Who does custom cartoon characters + background?

I need a custom cartoon character (of high quality) and a background created for my personal blog. This will be one of a teenager ish looking person; anyways, I'm looking to spend between $35 - $80 on this; please post here (with samples) if you can do it and make sure you mention your rates. More details will be sent if required

 

I have some experience in character creation, here is a sample below. I can do this for $50, of course your wouldn't be a bug.

 

I'm going to give this a try if for nothing else than to *start* my portfolio. I can draw all day long...I am going to have to learn Illustrator. I know Photoshop. So...I am going to do some research and put something together for you, and if you choose not to use it, that's completely fine. I will at least have something in my portfolio.

Do you want anything else in the picture? I know you dig Tyler Cruz's design, and he has poker chips, etc. in his. Do you want anything like that, and if so, what?

Here's the short list of specs I made:

The University Kid Character Design

- Teenager Cartoon Character
- Brown skin, black spiky hair
- Left ear – shiny silver earning
- Red polo shirt, dark jeans
- White shoes – similar to Nike Air Force Ones
- Memorable – bright eyes
- Wad of cash in hand (teehee!)


Background

- Simple – focus should be more on character
- Maybe a beach, office building

You should put your photo up. hehe So, people know that you're not African American. Cuz that guy ^ looks African American or of African descent....with all due respect.

Jason, I don't imagine that you will want to use this (if you even like it in the first place). I used an avatar creator to make the general design, and then vectorized it. I did A LOT of painting and crap trying to figure things out. Then I vectorized it some more. LOL

My next step is to draw something from scratch, so let me know if this is even remotely in the ballpark. I forgot to add the wad of cash, but you see the fists are waiting for it.

 

I am attempting something, a complete n00b at this kind of thing though really!...i couldn't get any hair right so just used the hat from your picture!

What program? Did you draw it freehand...looks pretty darn good to me for a "n00b"? Nice job.

Neh its a photoshop job, started off outlining your head on that photo then added a top, would have to add shadows, different colouring etc to finish it but no need if you have someone!
