i have talked to many people and some people think, it takes a while (3 to 4 weeks at least) for google-spiders to index a link or a page on Dirs and other sites

so yesterday i came to a conclusion that it's NOT true...google can index your site and put the page up on search result in matter of seconds....

so i posted a little a thread for my home work here last night and after 10 minutes i went on google and searched it and it was there....
i was like woooo that was fast...so

just wondering if this happened to anybody eles here??!! :D

I agree...they get faster all the time. I've seen this quite often too. (The 10 minute indexing.) Especially on blogs.

well, don't the spiders follow the links?!...and index anything that they find..?!! so they should index any sites that they find on those blogs and etc...too

...I think google indexes way faster than before...it doesn't matter blogs, forums..etc...

If you have a wordpress blog .... then there is a thing in options called ping which is set default to XXX.pingomatic.com every time you write a post a ping is done to that address which in turn ping all the search engine on your behalf .... something like this happen and your new post is indexed. Blogger blog and wordpress hosted blog are indexed fastly becoz of there self made tag and category thing.
Most active forums have so much data that googlebot keep coming to them after a small interval ......

Google always checks the updates trend of a website.
Usually forums have new threads and links everyday, that's why google tries to visit everyday.
If you have a website that has a new page once a week, it will try to visit once a week.
That's what happens with one of my sites. It has about 30-40 new pages of content daily, so they usually get indexed in 24-48 hours. If I submit any of these pages to Digg, with just 1 vote, they get indexed in 8-16 hours.

That is why it is recommended to get new content as often as possible. Google loves it :) The more pages your site has - the greater your authority gets.

Submit your sitemap to Google .. and place the code they give you in the header area and that tells Google to spider you. It a matter of days at that point.

    Google webmaster tools - sitemap

Google does index like a mother. I had a completely brandnew site, including newly registared domain name. Was indexed in a matter of hours (10,000+ pages) and was on page one for my primary keyword in 6 days. All white hat. No black hat tricks.

It tends to index sites that it knows will get new content more frequently. Forums and blogs are an example.
