Google's 2007 Q4 PageRank (PR) Update - 10/13/07

Looks like a penalty

 

No sir, this is NOT penalty, this is Visual Page Rank update. Google shows fake page rank of the toolbar that does not necessarily reflect the real PR. They did it to stop link selling and PayPerpost programs....

 

Your traffic WILL NOT DROP, if it is a penalty, your traffic from google would go to zero.

 

It's technically not a toolbar export (it ain't one to begin with). It's visible PR being manipulated to reflect that it has been penalized for having links in paid reviews that pass pagerank - it does not affect SERPs.

So, yes, it is a penalty, to the visible pagerank calue on the toolbar. Not all penalties involve the complete eradication of a site from the index.
*By PR I'm refering to the visible one on the toolbar, not the internally calculated one.

 

Well, if you want to argue, I would say it is a penalty . But if you want the real answer from Pay Per Post EXPERT, it is not.

By the way, do you remember when Google took 3 months more to export data to toolbar? This is what they were doing. Visual update for page rank. I refrain in giving clarifications, as that may take me hours of writing..

Thanks. sorry for the thread title i think this is not really a PR update but selected blog pr penalization only. This thing is like the same thing that happened to directories.

 

Paid Reviews should be banned and thats the only way google can do that by penalising them straight away. I guess thats ur case.

I think - Google is always doing something against paid links. Directories were the first, now its the turn of BLOGs.

One of my friend's PR5 blog has been down-graded to PR3 two days back. He sells blogpost, but not reviews. Still Google bots have been able to detect it.

Absolutely thats true. But who cares. Not everyone in this world are reading this thread and somewhere we will also be penalised

 

My 3 blogs went to PR0 before few days.
So i think there should be some new algo for advertisement prices

 

I think Google still filtering all site that sell links.
