Why do you belive in your god?

    Greetings

I write this, because i would love to know why people belive their gods? There has been SO MUCH, suffering because of religion. Almost all wars we have fought so far, are because of religion. When i was a little boy, i went to church and belived that there must be something behind all of this (I still do belive, but i don't belive that any religion, or person on earth knows what it is).

When i started to ask difficult questions from the priest, he didn't have answers, instead he complained to my parents about how bad kid i am, for asking questions.

I had several questions, but one that i remember for the rest of my life. I asked the priest "Why do we worship God, if he lets us suffer. How can God be good if he let's the world be a place like this?" The priest replied that he is testing our faith, and that was the end of my religious experience. I told the priest that i rather die and go to hell for eternity, than spend my time with sadistic god that tortures humanity.

After that, i have studied all common religions, and they all have same roots. After reading the old bible, i realized how cruel, intolerant, sadistic and bad religion is.

Some religious people tell me that they belive in god and read bible so they can have good morals. If you don't read bible, you don't have guidelines to being a good person. This is utter bullshit, EVERY sane human, knows what is right or wrong. I have empathy in me, and i don't go around raping, stealing or murdering. I don't need bible for that.

Religion is the worst disease humans have ever had, it takes the children in young age and manipulates them. After this the child does not think for him self when he grows up. I have done so much reading about how the world works, and if ANY religious person would study their religion and really test it, they would notice how much bullshit it is and how much harm it has done to humans.

In these days when i see a religious person, i get discusted. I have started to REALLY HATE, religious people. I feel like they are idiots, because they belive in a god that lives on a cloud and you need to give him money, cause he needs to build churces.

So religious people out there, do you do any self study? Have you ever put your god / gods to test or are you just going blind and trusting.

    Shame on you!

I do not believe in any God.

I believe humans should look to themselves as God, because no one has more control over you, than you.

You praise yourself like you praise the "great lord" you will be a better person.

Hmm.. Actually you are putting others in to danger. What if your god tells you to go to war with your neighbour. If you would have studied your religion, you would know its utter bs. Now that you are blind to the fact and you don't care, your selfish attitude has putten your neighbour into danger.

If your "god" tells you things, that isn't god, it's a mental illness called schizophrenia.

How about we praise human life, stop hurting one another, even if there were a god, it would have no control over anything.

Humans and humans only cause tragedy and war, you fight over stupid things, like religion.

    Expand your mind.

I do not agree religion is the main cause of all the wars humans have suffered for thousands of years. I would like to blame "human nature" for this pitiable condition we find ourselves in.

A religion is a set of laws, and guidelines, so that we may become a better person, a loving father, an empathic neighbor, a good citizen.

There is a "NEED" for religion, because of the aggressive and untrustworthy nature of Humans.

I believe in God, and I believe religion is here to bring discipline in life, it is the greatest emotional need of man. Religion does not contradict Science, but compliments it. It is the spiritual path to mental peace.

It is not a question of why we beleive in God. The fact is humans have their own limitations and have no rights to say that God does not exist. There are millions of things science has failed to explain ( a fact that is accepted only by scientists). If you beleive in God, nothing wrong. If you don't, nothing wrong again. But we should never try to impose our belifs on others. Because, we don't know.

The common question asked by people who beleive in God is "Who created the Universe?" And we have no clear answer for that. If it was the Big Bang that resulted in the formation of celestial bodies, who created the ball that exploded...It goes on. So, let us all learnt to accept everybody as fellow human beings, whatever their faith. Thanks

I agree with you. Relegion is not the cause for all the fighting. It is the mean tendency of humans that causes the fight. If there were no relegion, these people would have been fighting in the name of something else like race or colour or relegion etc. Thanks

Don't trust these scientific theories. You know, they say there are 6 different Strings theories, which explain matter in the Universe, and "ALL ARE CORRECT"... lol

Scientists say these 6 theories apply to "6 DIFFERENT UNIVERSES IN DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS"

Now whoever has heard of that! They believe anything that their math can prove... ;)

    1. WHY DO I BELEIVE IN GOD...I beleive in GOD because he provided me everything i didn't ask infact i was not able to ask.
I was provided water, air, light and every such thing and i didn't pay for any of these things. If in this world a KING is
providing you many things for free will u be greatfull to him or not??? even u can earn those things at ur own if u try but
GOD is providing such things which u can never ever get urself.

2.There are many things that we can never imagine about GOD sine he is a CREATOR and we are a CREATION. we have limited
thinking but still GOD helped us gathering our thoughts by sending his messengers.Telling us wat to do and wat to not.

    3. You know mordering, rapping and stealing is wrong and u r not doing all this BECAUSE there is law there are police
stations to put u behind the bars and you don't do all this. Y would they put u in jail?? or why people will hate you
if u do murder??? why they all consider these things bad??? caz these things are bad in laws? and from where all these laws
    came? from teachings of religion.

4.NO RELIGION asks to kill innocents or fight wars its we people who are making up things if two persons are fighting
why don't u see him as gulity why religion? in your opinion people like priest are close to religion , why don't they
go for war??? why some army commanders start fighting??? so its not all about religion people close to religions stand for
    peace.

5.GOD DOESN'T NEED CHURCHES....GOD is everywhere...we may need churches but still i say we don't need churches we can look at
a tree and praise whoever has made that, that will be trust in GOD.

there are several people who are suffering in this world from diasceases, wars and and so on....but they have greater
reward after this world and this world has nothing as compare to the life after this world this is just an examination hall
    RESULT is yet to come.
and i will congratulate u that u r best in all creations...as humans u can think and u came up with all this questions....
and i hope u r not suffering from bad times.

I agree God provides all the things. but still, many people will not be convinced by such emotional appeal.

i agree again, but many people here are atheists. You cannot convince anybody like this, since most don't believe in prophets.

The world has progressed to the 21st century. humans are different tan they were thousands of years ago. Now, humans have become more intelligent, their mind is more mature. So, most people who write constitutions won't be reading religious books to find out what is correct and what is wrong. So, that means, you comment is not convincing enough.

Fighting is the job of soldiers. All wars are bad, but they are going o happen nevertheless. I believe human nature is the main reason for wars, than religion.

Religious wars are a thing of the past (unless a commander-in-chief of a superpower declares a crusade or something dumb like that)...

    Agree.

Not convincing enough. But I have to believe it.

Yes, human mind is very powerful. but people are more pragmatic these days. So, you were not convincing.

Human nature is the single biggest cause of all wars. humans may be the best creation, BUT ONLY ON EARTH. There may be life outside the earth as well.

Humans are NOT PERFECT. i have first hand experience, you know ;)

    Fail.

    Religious people:

Talk to something that doesn't exist
    Hear something that doesn't exist
Dedicate their lives to something that doesn't exist
Believes they will float to the sky and live forever with invisible beings when they die
Believe in the boogy man under the earth

I call that a mentally unstable person.

Every object you see today has an inventor. You are typing on a keyboard that has been created by someone. This Mozilla firefox browser I'm using did not come into being just by chance, did it? It was created by some superb minds out there. The car you drive, the home you live in, every object that can be seen and touched has been created.

Then why do you think this beautiful planet earth, with billions of species of animals and plants, came into existence just by chance? How can you even imagine the great vast Universe, which has no ends in sight, came into being by chance?

It is impossible. There has to be a creator.

And that creator, We call God...

Humanity is constantly discovering the order of the universe. The chemicals that make it up and they way they interact with each other in a constant fashion. The way the universe follows observable rules in its constantly changing self. With all this order there must be an orderer, where there is a natural law there must be a lawmaker.
What that "god" exactly is, is not really all that important to me but I am convinced that it is there somewhere.

gauharjk, your whole argument is a giant logical fallacy. A basic college education would have taught you that.

One can't assume that because some objects have creators that all things have creators..

Could you please explain your point in detail. I want to find out what you think.

I want to find out why my argument seemed illogical to you...
