Maybe with special permission, but their FAQ's says:

Can I place your ads on my forums or chat page?
No, you may not place banners, leaderboards, skyscrapers, wide skyscrapers, medium rectangles, 180x150 rectangles, or half page ads on any forum, chat or message board areas of your website. Doing so can result in the cancelation of your account. However, you are welcome to place ValueClick Media pop-unders, invues, and interstitials in these areas because they are frequency capped. Banners and other in-page ad formats perform poorly on forums due to users cycling through many pages/messages within a short amount of time.

Why not put some adsense ads at the top and some VCM ads in the middle of your pages?
That way you get the two most paying parts of each:p

Yes, all of the major ad networks have similar language in their TOS. The reason is that a lot of forums are just a bunch of meaningless chit-chat that has no real content. If the forum is heavily moderated to keep off topic chatter to a minimum, and the forum has good SEO so that it draws in a high percentage of search engine visitors compared to regular forum members, and the topic is something they need traffic for, then you may be able to get permission (or acceptance), but if not... then you are correct. I think it also helps to have a lot of non-forum pages on your site as well. If the site just hit a forum index right on the home page, then you'd probably get a big no.

Burst Media has a policy against forums too... they have a lot of questions about that on the application. I just applied to them this past month. I was rejected. I had a dialog with the person that sent the rejection, and explained about my forum. After a couple of emails back and forth, I was finally accepted. Went through the same thing with Tribal Fusion about 4 months ago. Had been with them for years and they sent an email saying they would no longer allow any ads on forum pages. I had a conversation with them and made a case for why they wanted their ads on my forum, and they made an exception.

All of this could change tomorrow... its an ever changing world. But, don't give up if you think that you have a content rich site that would provide benefit to advertisers.

    Both are different companies dear.

If you generate TONS of impressions on your site. Valueclick media might perform better. If not many impressions, go for adsense.

Like a CPM is doing better for my forums than adsense. I am using both to increase my incomes :D

ValueClickmedia pays much HIGHER for CPM than google but if your visitors like to "click" then use adsense

Burst media accepted me. Tribal Fusion accepted one of my friends too. You need to have a ton of traffic (talking 5k+ daily unique visitors) and at least 100,000 daily pageviews to get listed and accepted by the majors.

You definately can use both on the same pages, and if you use three different size ValueClick ads on the same page you receive three payments for three impressions from the one visitor.

Agree with Cyclops... I've run VCM and Adsense together on the same pages for about 4 years.

According to Myspacepros, Valueclick's earnings are going up x2.

I used ValueClick Media on my funny pictures website, it earned around $1,200.00 a month, unlike AdSense which is around $1,000.00 so VCM will earn more money since it CPM, BUT valueclick does also display CPC ads as well, I don't know where you all got that VCM is CPM only, it would be nice.

Recently, I've been making about 5x as much with Valueclick than adsense. (it's probably because they have a number of good quality retail ads running right now for christmas)

2 months ago I was making more with adsense.

my advice is to keep both running on your sites and watch for fluctuations.
