What's My Christian Responsibility?

What is my responsibility toward civil and religious government when it oversteps its bounds BY VIOLATING THE CONSTITUTION?

Should I meekly comply with its demands?

Should I repay it with violence?

No, I must act in keeping with a clear conscience and willingly face the consequences.

Consider how the Apostles Peter and John answered the religious and civil authorities who threatened them with severe and unreasonable punishment and "...commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, 'Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. for we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.'" Acts 4:18-19

It's time for all True Christians to Man/Woman up and let our voice be heard in a peaceful yet rebellious way! Donate Now!

Using religion to raise money for politics is just plain stupid. This is so typical of people, to use religion to further their gains and goals. I'm sure this wasn't request by RP, but this is one of the many type of supporters he has. :(

I'm sorry if you feel like I'm supporting Religion. True Christianity is not an organized Religion, but a spiritual family of love, and I'm not using It, It is using me.

Thanks for your point of view though and giving me a chance to respond. :)

Thanks Guerilla. Hope nobody thought I was excluding them, just trying to remind any Christians here that it is their responsibility to fight for those who can't, and what better way then donating a few bucks instead of getting that $5 cup of coffee after church.

Not trying to brag, but as an example, I just gathered up $95.48 that I didn't even think I had. It's everything I have, and I have debt collectors breathing down my neck, but I have enough experience to know the long term return will be sooooo much more, and not just economically! And hey, I still have a roof over my head, food to eat, water to drink, and I feel good! :)

Just don't be stingy. This could be one of the most important donations you ever make. I think it's safe to say that it's more important than tithing to your church today.

Very poetic, isn't it? :) Reminds me of the early Christian movement. I know RP isn't Jesus lol, but all the different people behind it, uniting under the flag of peace, freedom, compassion, and removing the shackles of dogmatic religion... it's beautiful.

Great links Guerilla! Very helpful for what I'm trying to do elsewhere.

When Paul was brought before Festus he answered thus:

Act 25:8 ...Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.

It is a fallacy and a zealousness not founded in Christianity that would lead someone to act against the law of the land. Beware of any who would so lead you. In law there are two main thrusts, De Jure and De Facto... An example of this is the nine tenths of the law of possession. But NOTHING, for instance, as a Christian, should bring one to violence. Now as a "citizen" say in Nazxi Germany in 1933... that's a whole different bowl of wax. There is NOTHING in this great land which could compare with that. And Amen.

    Very good post DC!

It was kind of confusing to me at first because it is advanced Theology you are writing. I fully agree though. I wouldn't break the laws when there are so many other non-harmful options like this, that seems just as irresponsible as not standing up against tyrannies.

    Thanks for clearing that up.
