help with my hard drive

  1. #1
    my computer got trashed last week, and had to send it down to the store. i had 2 hard drives in there, and they only bothered to install one back. so now i only have 1 of my hard drives up. i need to know how to install the onther one. i think i lost the disk to install it. it was a western digital 250 gig. please help.

    Thats not a big deal, buy another data cable(SATA/PATA depending on you Hard drive)!! Remove HDD jumper and place it into slave mode. Connect power supply. Thats it :D

    the hard drives in there phisiclly, i just dont have it installed. i need the software to install it, but dont know were to get it

    You don't need any software to install it physically!! Although if your disk is all empty, you have to install your OS :p

    i have 1 hard dirve the works, one it cant even find, even thow its in there. when i bought it, it came with a CD, and i had to install it useing someing called lifegard tools or something like that

    Hmm, you should be able to go through the HD that works using a tools software prog. . .good luck, I know how frustrating that can be.

    Go to Western Digital's website download the tools run them from drive one to set up drive two.

    Drive has not been fdisked or formatted is all. They did not do this for him as they should have. Easier to tell him to get the tools and run the program as they do it for you.

    Format the disk and assign a drive letter. are you using windows? if yes, use the disk management tools.
