Google Toolbar 5 (BETA) is avalible for download. Anyone have it yet? What do you think? What is new? From the download page:
i was just gonna make this thread but saw this thread, yes id also like to know the perks before i download it...right now im happy with current toolbar
Sounds like this toolbar comes with a PR checksum change. Anyways, I think the beta page is here right?
PageRank checksum is a special number Google uses to validate a link - A change in it means that most PR checkers except Google toolbar won't work. --- I've just tried the new toolbar. It looks great and has some nice features, though the PageRank button is a little too small...
I have downloaded it, I don't notice any differance. The pagerank bar is smaller, but that is about it. I don't use it for anything besides the PR bar.
Well, I've examined the toolbar quite thouroughly (and even blogged about it). Generally not much big changes, but they are still changes. The main changes are: -Nicer configuration interface (toolbar still looks the same though) -Smaller PR button (and a glitch in the PR information) -Integration of Google Notebook -Ctrl+F replacement -Account management now separate from Toolbar config -Up-one-level -More easier to reorganise the custom buttons.
CTRL-F replacement??? really??? hmmmm - can you disable that, as it would p**s me right off?? I like FF find functions (mind you any change would help IE's dismal effort)
