What a coincidence, when someone answers my question, the Alexa rank shows up, lol. Only in the toolbar and not on the alexa website however.
Good content and links. It's the same with anything else on the internet. If you build a quality website and work hard to get natural links and create linkbait you will eventually outshine everyone else in your niche (unless of course they all do this already - which I doubt as most searches in Google and other engines still show numerous spam results in the top ten under almost any keyword search).
Alexa is a good way to estimate your traffic but yeah as many told here it is very inaccurate due to its dependancy on its toolbar anyways........I think to build quick Alexa ranking StumbleUpon is a real good way.
There are rank generators. I have one... just enter in your URL, choose a list of IPs, and press a button. The list of IPs though don't work for the most part, so you'd need your own.
Alexa gathers data from its toolbar installed by the users. But the fact is how many users has installed alexa toolbar. Atleast I haven't. So the accuracy of the alexa data is highly doubtful.Plz correct me if I am wrong or I have some miss information.
Alexa rankings dont mean anything. If you install the toolbar all you're going to get is bunch of popups.
That might work for a week or two, but I wouldnt try it on a site that I wanted to last for the long run. Spammy tactics will get you spammy results, quick to the top and then never heard of again.
I think we need to keep in mind that Alexa is a guideline or a indicator of a websites traffic. It cannot be consider the end all be all authority on this topic because of several limitations including the fact that not everyone has the toolbar installed. Use the data for what it is worth - a guideline.
Install the toolbar and spend all day on your site. Also build a site other webmasters w/ toolbar will visit numerous times a day.
Yes, i would also like to know if that's true, because recently I just had my website traffic ranking go down by 89% even though i got like 3000 more unique visit last month. By the way every1, what is PR? i figured it means Page Rank, but is it like an actual page ranking site?
it's all about the toolbar...but in any case alexa ranking isn't as important anymore...it doesn't bring traffic or does it?
