A 17 years old girl make a million $ w/ myspace resource site

Agreed. With that type of money she could (at her age) very well have that money work in a ton of ways for her. By 25-30 years old, she probably wouldn't have to do much at all except reinvesting.

 

SO $8 on the domain.. what about hosting fees? she said her first cheque was over $2k so that means she went all that time, accommodating all those visitors with nothing spent on hosting?

 

$8 for the domain, which came with free hosting.

Then she needed to upgrade the hosting (which none of the blogs talking about it take into consideration) soon after, which cost some money. Once she slapped loads of ad's on it she got that payment. She didn't put ads on it for a long time.

 

How many registrars offer free hosting with domain purchase? I've never heard of this.

 

I have...

crucialwebhost.com for example (although you pay $9.99 for the domain instead of their $5.99 usual price if you have a hosting package with them). I'm sure I could find a few more easily enough.

Shes no genius. Just started a website in the right niche at the right time and worked on it a lot.

 

Good on her! Just watched the vid, I bet she'll be a true inspiration for other youngsters to open their minds to the web development world.

 

I just thought of this...

She lives in America and that means shes paying alot of Taxes - Also according to Alexa - Her traffic is nowhere near the peek(When she was earning the big $'s) so I can imagine she is making no where near that kind of money anymore. I say <10% of that....

So I can safely say... I make more money then her LOL....

ps shop4 she was offered $1.5 million for the site by Brad Greenspan and turned it down (idiot...), so I wouldn't say it's worth peanuts.

Lucky girl - her website is full of pop ups and links that re-direct you to downloads - it's not that easy to navigate either, not sure how her site got that popular.
