If you where elected President of the United States in 2008 what would be the first 10 most important things you would try to accomplish in your first 6 months in office?
Hunt Bin Laden Bring the troops home Establish a budget surplus Repeal the Patriot Act Repeal the Military Commission Act Close Guantanamo End the Rendition programs That's a busy 6 months.
1. Destroy the FDA and every other wasteful department 2. Withdraw from the UN 3. Withdraw from any "treaties" that bypass our Constitution 4. Get out of other countries obviously 5. Send a letter to the head of every state government saying "congratulations, you've been promoted!" 6. Make it clear we don't f*ck around, I'd do this by capturing bin Laden and turning him inside out, and letting his corpse rot in public display. 7. Threaten any future terrorists that come here what we will do to them. 8. Start promoting peace.. good thread btw

1. Improve the economy 2. Help lower income citizens by providing job assistance and training, etc. 3. Get rid of illegals 4. Stop sending millions of dollars to support other countries 5. Get rid of the patriot act and similar programs 6. legalize drugs and prostitution 7. revamp prison system (I would probably only put people in prison that committed a violent crime)...Fines for everything else. Shape up govt education 9. Keep Gitmo open and deny trials to enemy combatants (neither the Geneva convention or the US constitution apply to them) 10. Start educating the public about Islamic Fascism and how we can prevent it from destroying the world. (Notice I did not say Islam in general...there are some nice muslims out there that are peaceful and practice the true backgrounds of the religion)

I would eliminate the income tax. 8. I would buy back every piece of american soil we have sold off to foreign companies. 9. I would make english the national language and make it mandatory for citizenship. 10. I'd bring the boys back home.

Choose Ron Paul as my running mate. Resign immediately, leaving the reigns to someone with proper experience to fix our country.
Ralph Nader is a socialist. He wants bigger government telling you what you can and cannot buy, what companies can and cannot do. Also, Nader fashions himself as an advocate of consumer affairs, he really wouldn't offer much as the VP in the White House. I like Chuck Hagel as a military advisor, and Mark Sanford as a good successor.
