too much to ask for someone to manually submit to directories for an ad on my site?

i was thinking about asking for manual submission to around 2000 directories in return for them getting their ad on my site for life

however is this a bad idea?
my site is new but is rapidly building so is it stupid offering an ad on my site for life for it?

If your site is new and has no PR or traffic I would say 2,000 directories is too many. I would start off asking for submission to like 100 directories in return for a link. You might be able to pull that one off. Once you get more traffic and maybe some PR you should be good to go though :)

Yup, I totally agree. MANUALLY submitting to 2,000 directories is too much, if your site has a low PR.

It also depends how long life is, it could only mean 12 months :) ive seen many people talk of 10 years, 3 months later they have sold half of their directories.

I would NEVER offer permanent ads on the frontpage on a web site for directory submission, whilst there are quite a few benefits. I am sure that if your site by any reason becomes a huge success, you would remove the backlink. Define permanent :)

Rather than wasting time here, why not start submitting to these directories yourself?

If you look for repuptable traders on this forum, you can outsource manual directory submission for cheap. PM me if you want some ideas.

Do not go for Permanent Ads . Go for 1- 6 months advertisements on your sites.
This is most what you should give

To submit to that many directories manually will take about a month. Anyone who does it much faster will be using auto-submit software. So what you're asking is if you can hire someone for that length of time, for the price of a link on your not-yet-promoted website.

And what site would this ad appear ? is another question, not sure why you just don't pay some one a few bucks to list them for you & offer sponsered site listings / advertisements on your site, much cleaner way to do business.

Never give anything permanent for life something you may go on to regret later. There is no need for a massve 2000 dir submission. Go for a smaller package say 100 dirs. You can get it done under $10 these days.

i can recommend a good person from dp to do this work for you but he works for cash Count on at least .30 cents per listing if you want it done MANUALLY.

I was talking about semi-automatic. Using a tool to help with the submissions instead of laboriously writing new descriptions each time will still take this kind of time, unless every single directory happens to be on the same script and uses a very simple form.

Try submitting to 20 free directories, and time yourself. Then you will know what you're asking.

Since yesterday i would of got busy already doing some for myself, if you started yesterday, did them casually and got 50 done my tonight its already a nice start.

I think submission services especially are useful for when you have a network of websites and couldn't possibly submit all of your sites regularly and keep up to date.

That makes sense to outsource it to people who do it as part of their living.

But if you dont have the money then just make a start yourself.
