Info regarding copyright with domains. What can/can't one do?

I have an opportunity to purchase what I find to be an amazing domain. However, it is also the name of a HUGE company, with it's name seperated by a "-".

Keyword rich domain place marks it with 317,000 searches each month. And it's the only available domain of it's kind.

I'm probably going to buy it once/if paypal verifies my bank account.

What can/can't I do with a domain like this? It screams buy me:D

example of said domain with another companies name.

    time-warner.info

edit-Domain is not coming up on any whois as if it's never been rgistered. this is good, correct?

Oh, don't use it commercially in such a way that it can be associated with an
existing trademark that's heavily protected by a company with deep pockets.
    YMMV.

    Capish?

for example like this site is, and the ones that branch from it

    http://nativeamerican(.)org/

I think I'm def going to buy it once payal allows me:eek:

    Like I said, YMMV.

If the party in question has a trademark and you do what you're hoping to do,
they might have issues with it.

Because he doesn't have a clue.

Anyway, expect a C&D if you go forward with this "plan".

    And how do you know?

    C&D = Ceist & Desist Letter

Honestly, you've got serious TM issues with this domain. What were you planning to do with this name?

Like hydroburn, you two clearly have no clue. Don't stupidly make stupid posts
on things you know nothing about.

Here's a suggestion, Browning: ask permission from the mark holder. If they do
    say no, forget it.

So just email american airlines, ask them how they feel about me owning that domain, and what I can do with it basically to keep them from being angry?

Better to tell them you want to use it vs. them finding out on their own.

If anything, they may buy it from you if they don't want you to use it.

I just made a thread in the legal section asking about what to write/how to construct it. I also don't know which department to contact. And do I email them, write, phone.
