Do US politicians listen to American people? Do they form domestic and foreign policies that are inline with what American people want?
by and large I would say no. I think politicians are more in the game of FORMING public opinion than following it.
It depends on who is talking and what they have to say. Most politicians go in to politics with their own views and values and they will listen with in the bounds of those views.
Politicians are primarily interested in preservation of their own power, by any means necessary. This is true of almost all elected officials. The U.S.A does not have a monopoly on corruption. No, our politicians don't listen to the people, and neither do yours.
