This is a spin-off from the pc vs mac debate in: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=5617519 That thread was supposed to be debate of OSX vs. Vista but has instead become more about pc vs. Mac than their relevant OSs. So, my question to everyone in relation to that is which is better: Alienware (pc) or Mac?
I second that. Alienware is way overpriced. I can build some of their high end machines for less then what they are asking..
Exactly if you want a machine like Alienware build it yourself. Get the same specs without their mark up..
This is the thing I notice: When a PC breaks, you will need an IT guy. At the same time, they have a much easier and straight forward way for new users. When a mac breaks, just restart it. At the same time, macs are simple and with simple you get a LOT of incompatibility, that's a killer!! I personally am a PC user because the Mac mouse bugs me, plus I'm a gamer and want to do something more than world of warcraft.
I personally think that MAC is the one that is overpriced. See it yourself : iMac: PRICE: $2,699.84 Apple iMac Desktop with 24" Display (2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Drive, SuperDrive) but with JUST $1,189.99 WITH HP Pavillion, you'll get this: HP Pavilion M9040N Elite Desktop PC (Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600, 3 GB RAM, 640 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium) BUT with FANTASTIC ALIENWARE CROSSFIRE: *45 Nanometers of Quad-Core Glory *Let Alienware Push Your System to the Limit The Area-51 ALX system is now available with the quad core Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 overclocked from 3.0GHz to 4.0 GHz core *Maximize Your Windows Vista® Experience *Get Caught in the CrossFire The new ATI® Radeon™ HD 3870 with CrossFire *More than ever before: 4TeraBytes STORAGE *DDR3 Memory is Here *Blu-ray Disc Technology *$5,199 for Dual 1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 2900 XT – CrossFire Enabled 4GB Low Latency Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 2 x 2048MB WELL OF COURSE ITS EXPENSIVE BECAUSE IT IS THE BLOODY FASTEST COMPUTER IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!
