My sites started giving me profits within 15 days and some up to a maximum period of about 5 months. Almost all of my sites started generating profit (revenues - expenses) at a max. period of 5 months. I would like to know how many days, months it took for you to break even and start making profits? In general, in the beginning, people should be less worried about profits. To be successful, you will have to put money back into your business to continue to grow. Setting realistic goals of growth and profits should be 1-2 year goals. It took my business 6-7 years to earn enough to make a living. I'm very happy with the results but I have to remember the MANY THOUSANDS of hours of work it took to get there. The biggest mistake I made in the past was living in TODAY in business. You cannot do that. You have to be projecting ahead into the future 6, 12, 24 months or more. Have a business plan. Write a business and marketing plan and know who your customers really are. I am constantly collecting data and asking people how they found me. I want to know what's working and where to spend more $$. The other thing is that $1 today is more than you would have had if you had done nothing to help yourself. I use the same logic with education and college. If you don't go to college because it's going to take 10 years to complete now that you're busy and have a life, when you're 10 years older you would have nothing extra to show for it. And you're still older.
In month 1, I made $1.45 (not quite enough to live on - lol) month 2=$20 month3 = $60 Month 4 = $200 And upward from there.
My first site took me a while to make any money at all, around 6 months. Im still probably not turning a profit on it actually. As bestoftworks said i spent hundreds of hours working on it. These days though its possible to turn a profit within a few days. I'm very grateful that i didnt make money too quickly, that was all part of the learning curve.
That's the way to do it. Steady increases in revenue. Dump most or all of that back into the business, keep doing what you're doing and improve upon your business, and you will continue to see growth and profits. If business were easy, everyone would own one and be successful.
I'm at the 2 week mark and I have exactly $4.83 to show for it. Here's to hoping the next $4.83 is just as sweet (and goes by quickly, because I need $100 to get a check).
So I am guessing all of your revenue is coming from Adsense? When I set up my very first website about a year and half ago, it didn't generate much profit for the longest time. Not only that it lacked the traffic to make any sizable income, I personally didn't have the skills to utilize the traffic I had to generate more profit (I only started with Adsense as well). Now my website generate at least 50 time more revenue than what I used to make given the same amount of traffic. It's all about tweaking your site to maximizing your income.
So what did you do to tweak your site? I'm already technically selling something and I have ads, what else is there to do?
That totally depends on the kind of site you have and the ways you are using to promote it. It's like any other business, the more time and money you spend the bigger and faster results you'll have.
I used practically free everything. Free advertising, trafficking and I mostly concentrate on content. Since I barely spent any money I turned a profit in a couple of weeks.
One of my website give me intant profit within 2 days. From my experience how soon the profit you get depends on your niche.
Let's see... it's been 3 years in business (webhosting) and I think I may have made a profit this year hehe. Actually, I have one customer who all by themselves makes a profit for me. Now getting ready to start up a new server for free hosting. My new year project.
I am working on my webmaster forum for over 6 months now and not making profit yet but its all part of the plan!
A few months I started to make money, after my traffic increased and my advertising areas hosted better ads. As each month goes by my revenue is increasing. After the new year my whole site will be redesigned which will allow me to host an informative blog and have several new areas to advertise, so this will increase my revenue as well.
One of my first and best affiliate websites starting earning me hundreds of dollars a week from the word go. That website recommends just one product, I've written numerous articles about it and it also ranks well in msn and yahoo and gets about 100 visitors daily pretty much since inception. Colleen
