So I've set up my website promoting Monavie, both the product and the business opportunity. My goal in setting it up was to develop relationships with people, not just get numbers to sign up in droves. I think that having a strong relationship in this field will yield much better results long term than just signing people up. At the bottom of every post, I include my e-mail address. It is also listed at the top of the page as well. Yet, 3 weeks in I haven't gotten a single e-mail. I've had about 300 unique visitors, but not one e-mail. I know that e-mailing someone who is obviously trying to sell you something may seem shady and people who are afraid of having their address sold probably wouldn't do it, but how do I convince people that I am a real person? (Just saying that isn't cutting it). Should I use some generic e-mail capture form? And if so, which one?
Offer something valuable for free. People love free stuff but make sure what you give them is pure, quality stuff. That's for starters, let's see what others have in mind.
I know some people who get thousands of list just by giving free wordpress template. Maybe you can offer something in your expertise and im sure they will gladly give their email to you.
i would like to know the same thing. those simple two box subscribe features you see on websites, is there a simple script for them?
I think the script is really what I'm looking for. My site is Life Tree Juice (if you wanna google it) and I guess people just refuse to send good old-fashioned e-mail anymore. Difficulty, I'm using Blogger, so a standard non-Wordpress specific script would be great.
I don't know...I think that maybe you are looking at this all wrong. You say that you want to develop relationships with your visitors. You can't do that in your blog, for EVERYONE to see? I'm sorry, but very, very few people send e-mails. You'll have to do a hell of a lot more than 300 to get even one e-mail. Why would they send you one??? I was reading some of your stuff, and I saw your link, but why would I send you an e-mail? See what I mean? For my site, I make it easier for them to send me e-mails and comments on the site by putting the forms right in front of them, instead of clickng on a link that takes them there. I noticed on the right side of your site you have vacant space. How 'bout putting in the forms there, and it moves along with the visitors as they go down the page? Or, a very small form underneath each post??? If you do get any e-mails, perhaps post them, which may prompt others to follow suite. Get a friend, or a few posters here to send you some e-mails, and then post them. I don't know. I'm just thinking off the top of my head. You could offer incentives, but it may look like that you can't get anybody to reply without them. Plus, you got the moochers. They will take it, and just keep on a walkin.' Also, this product is not that popular (Or is it???), which in turn explains partially why you aren't getting any e-mails. Hope it works out for you.
