S'cuse me, but God made wheat and hemp, & methinks that man found a way of misusing them both. Similar story with sex, violence & rock & roll. Yes?

Misusing, how can you 'misuse' something that gives the effects such as pot does? If it wasn't meant to give effects, it would not, your brain would not have receptors for it now would it?

I also never knew people thought god invented or gave us rock and roll.

God gave us mind, brain, body, delight, music, & on & on & on & on. Let's not take credit for something that we haven't come up with ourselves............including rock & roll/pot/beer/wine/ etc.etc.etc.etc.

I got a disorder from smoking pot called Depersonalization/derealization. I lose sense of my body and feel like I'm losing my mind. Before people talk about the "wonders of pot" they should consider thousands of people who have gotten dp/dr from it

So we do nothing, man comes up with nothing, it's all 'god' we might as well sit around with our thumbs in our asses as we do nothing

That still does not answer the 'misusing' a substance that has the ability to be used one way..

Caffeine can have bad side effects, chocolate can, uncooked beef can, hell even tainted water can have bad side effects. Most things also claimed to have been brought on by pot are FAR from directly linked, more like voodoo medicine claiming it came from the 'bad and terrible pot'

I'm not talking about a "bad side effect." I'm talking about a disorder that is hard to deal with, with no cure that I have had for 5 years now.. that has a very strong link to pot smoking. If you want to know more you should go to dpselfhelp.com. There is also a forum and if you read the member stories you will see many of them have the same problems after smoking pot. Many doctors are noticing a strong link between this disorder and pot smoking and are conducting studies to learn more. It has also been known for years that if you are prone to certain psychiatric disorders pot can trigger them when you otherwise could have lived without them. Personally I don't think its worth it. Mental health is one of the most precious things you can have.

I haven't tried that even once... But they said it's good... And I'd rather say NO than say I'll try... :)

Marijuana is only as bad as the person using it.

Ahh a 'trigger' I also suggest you look into it more yourself. Caffeine can also 'trigger' it, as can many, many other substances.

IMHO this is nothing more than yet another attempt to blame a substance, with no real proof for a condition that can already be triggered by multiple other substances and is for the most part already in a person.

What next? Milk should be banned because people are lactose intollerant?

A 'trigger' is also far different from a cause.

Marijuana triggers a lot of uncomftorable mental and physical feelings in me, which is why I stopped smoking it and will never smoke it again. Inhaling it once is enough to ruin the day for me.

BTW, I didn't realize Grim was a doctor? Or maybe he doesn't believe Marijuana is bad for some people?

Did I ever say I was a doctor?

Is caffeine not bad for 'some' people, is chocolate not bad for 'some' people? Is alcohol not bad for 'some' people?

It 'might' be bad for 'some', that is not a reason to ban a substance.

I never said it should be banned. It was my understanding that we were debating whether or not it had negative side effects?

Nope, not debating that it can not have any negative side effects. I am in firm belief ANYTHING can have negative side effects.

People who want it banned however, especially the poster above surely appears to be using a possible 'trigger' effect that caffiene can also cause as a reason to 'ban' or for people to not use a substance.

Anything can cause harm, some people are allergic to water, I will not dispute that it could cause harm, I simply do not see people who have a trigger effect from pot as any different than someone who is allergic to peanuts, allergic to milk, etc,..

    ---
BTW I do NOT smoke pot 'anymore' I do know however it does have good properties, including those who have migraine headaches. I now however do not put any crap in my body, that IMHO includes pot, especially from a recreational stand point.

I agree with you 100%. People need to be able to make smart decisions about their health. That responsibility shouldn't fall to someone else, ie. the government.

I think marijuana should be treated like alcohol is in the USA, 21+.

On a serious note, of the condition that the poster has. I do feel bad for her, I wish her the best of luck with it and hope they find a way for her to recover from it.

I did do a little more reading and read many who appeared glad that a 'trigger' brought out a condition that they in all reality already had, it just had not surfaced yet. I don't have it so I can not personally comment, it however does sound legit wanting to know you have a condition while young, so you can learn to deal with it, get treatment, etc instead of being blind sided years later.
