Hey I need help, because it is the first time that something like this happened to me.... I have done a couple of articles for a guy, and they were ok, he payed right away. Then we agreed on a couple more. And I wrote them, but he disapeared. The messages I send him over DP are still unread,a nd its a good week from that. Hes E-mail is not listed in his profile. Should I give him a negative Itrader and start yelling? P.
I wouldn't, because: If he comes back, you will look and feel like a dork. If he doesn't come back, then the negative iTrader won't have any effect.
thats why Im not doing it... But what else can I do? Its not a lot of money, but I stilll don't want to be screwed P.
If he doesn't resurface in a few weeks, you sell his content to someone else. Or, you register a domain and place that content on your own domain.
Hold off on negative feedback for a couple of weeks. If he hasn't responded by then, post negative feedback explaining the situation so that other writers will not suffer the same fate as you. But chances are he will be back in touch.
yeah, I will. He has an ITrader of 71, so obviously hes not a regular scamer... We will see. Thanks P.
It's also holiday time, and on top of people's regular work load, there are lots of things to think about and get done at this time of year. I know I'm in the middle of moving, on top of it all, and I hardly have time to update my blogs more than a few times a week. Do not let this slip, though. I would send him an official invoice, and at the bottom include a 30 day due date. If you still haven't received payment, then you can release the hounds.
If it has been less than a week I wouldn't even consider it. After two weeks, that's when I'd raise my eyebrow and say..looks like its time to sell this work to other people.
There aare at least a 100 vilid reasons why someone might be gone for a week or two. Also keep in mind that a large hunk of the midwest US has no power. There are other physical considerations.
I would just say try to sell the articles you wrote in the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the forum. That way you didn't waste your time. If he comes back, tell him you sold the articles because he disappeared. If he gets mad, then that's his problem, right? He wasn't there to claim them.
