People going to war or doing things like this in the name of religion are just using religion as an excuse to satisfy other thing ie hate, money, power, inferiority complexes.

Mohammed would not have approved of killing your daughter for disobedience or any reason, Islam at its core is a peaceful religion as its based off early christian teachings.

Arabs haven't done much since they fell into this Islam thing.

Read Islam and Science for a brief overview.

I am incensed by this quote from Mohamed Elmasry of the Canadian Islamic Congress:

No you stupid uncivilized barbarian prick. It is not a "teenager" issue. In the civilized world, we do not blame victims for crimes perpetrated against them.

This is not the young girls issue. This is the fathers issue.

I am only sad that Canada doesn't have the death penalty. :(

This is a load of BS, and no different from some crazy Yank shooting up a school and killing lots of people.

    Same story, different thread.

What ever happened to no personal attacks? Does that include only forum members?

I think so. How can it be a personal attack if the person isn't even here? Look at all of the nasty things people here on DP say about George W Bush. If saying something nasty about a public figure was against the rules, these forums would be emptier than a Saudi Arabian synagogue.

But if I'm wrong, then my unhappiness with being permanently banned will be mixed with joy to see that someone is actually enforcing forum rules.

I certainly have read A LOT about prophet Mohammad.

He was not influenced or whatever by Judeo-Christian teachings...lol

Islam believes all the prophets, including Moses, Abraham, Jesus Christ, Noah, Solomon, David and Prophet Muhammad, were sent by the same ONE GOD.

That is why some of their teachings are similar.

Religion was meant to be a path through which people can realize themselves and attain enlightenment, which is the ultimate destination. But people have taken the path more seriously and have completely forgotten the destination they were supposed to reach. :(

So even though the Qur'an is derived from judeo-christian texts and mentions most of the same people ie Ishmael, Noah, Jacob, Isaac, David, Solomon, etc you still say he wasn't influenced by Judeo-Christian teachings. That is absurd.

Its not derived from these texts. Muhammad pbuh was illiterate and it was not revealed as a book, he would recite it. Also a bible in the arabic version did not exist untill about 200 years after Muhammad pbuh. It mentions many prophets, adam, abraham, isaac, ishmael etc because it is from the same God, muhammad pbuh is a descendant of Ishmael, who was left in mecca as a baby by abraham. Also The enemies of the Prophet kept a close watch on him in order to find proof for their claim that he was a liar - they could not point out even a single instance when the Prophet may have had a secret rendezvous with particular Jews and Christians.

Also the Quran differs with the bible in many places.

    Excellent post my friend... :)

    Great work.

There are many similarities between the Bible and the Quran, because both the books come from ONE God.

Actually the Bible says that Ishmael left with his mother, not that Abraham left them. Ol Mo sure did like changing the stories didn't he? I guess when you want to be popular that bad, you will do anything.
