Social Bookmarking Kills your PR!

Can anyone confirm this? Someone posted in my blog that Social Bookmarking icons can kill your PR... Is this true?

 

Social bookmarking can't effect your pagerank, since most major ones use nofollow the crawlers don't even follow your link. Social bookmarking should only be used to produce traffic.

 

no this is not true because this is the way to get traffic and to get backlinks but in case u will post bulks then that creates problem for you guys so......

 

Almost all major bookmarking sites use nofollow, get with the program

Anyway, I do not rely on social bookmarking..

 

Social bookmarking has helped me to drive a good amount of traffic to my blogs. I dun think it can kill PR or whatsoever...

Anyway, I don't think it would affect your PR... Most of these social bookmarking sites uses the "nofollow" attribute...

I don't see them having a direct affect on your pr. However, you may get some links from sites that found you on the socialbookmarking site. Still, i dont see it hurting you.

 

It definatly does not kill your SERP's at your site.

I have a site that has over 40 social bookmarking icons at it. I've put them up about 2 months ago. The traffic increase and SERP's have been moving ahead like usual.

Same for Pr. The pr is high and is staying high.

 

Of course social bookmarking can't kill PR its only to generate traffic to website.

 

If anything.. it HELPS your pr..

 

they help with PR... last time i got PR of my site at 4 and all of my inner pages that i submit them to major social sites are also with PR

yes i agree that, most of social bookmarking sites use nofollow tag and it is used for traffic generation of your site.

 

no follow = no pr , thank you , social bookmarking does bring crazy amount of traffic in though.

 

Hmm...but traffic generated by social bookmarking has low quality..for me, it's a waste of bandwidth.
