Hi there, I am new to this so please bear with me for a first try. I am interesting in in various advertising internet models that are available ie 1. Query-based Paid Placements 2. Contextual Advertising / Behavioral Marketing and 3. Content-Target Advertising. I am aware of which companies can help me with implementing the above but, does anyone know which websites have used these models to make their companies successful. Does anyone know how much they have made using these models also . Thanks Biggalie
Biggalie, All good questions. Let me try to answer them for you. 1. Query based paid placements, commonly referred to as an XML ad feed, is a good way to monetize a search engine type of site. Your user types in a query, you in turn query our ad feed with the very same keyword phrase, and we return ads that you can present to your user in whatever format you like. 2. Contextual advertising is a great way to monetize blogs, forums and other content rich sites. You place some code on your site and our content recognition system reads your page. We then determine which keywords are appropriate to "activate" and double underline those keywords. When one of your users hovers their mouse over an activated keyword, an in-line contextual ad pops over the content with an ad. This is a great way to go because you can keep the look and feel of your site intact and the ads only appear when there is demonstrated interest by your users. 3. Content - Target advertising. Much like the above, but with an ad box next to your content. Great monetization if you have a site with ad space carved out. Same content recognition and you get to choose the ad format, colors, etc. to fit your page. The payoff is all over the board. There are so many factors that contribute to your success. First and foremost is the quality of your content, second is the subject matter. Some industries just pay better than others. I hope this helps. Feel free to get in touch if you need any help. Cheers, Stas
well if it's google ad words, it depends how you do it. Ads prepared professionally get more impressions and more hits. Again it's up to you to turn the visitor in to a customer....improve your site...........before you set up ads...
thanks guys for your help, i will get the hang of this eventually.....will have a look at plentyof fish Biggalie
