I have 1 giga on my Laptop but 2 giga will be perfect For opening it non stop you need a good source and a goodf hdd and a good Mother Board ....
2 gb will be sufficient for your need. For a 32 bit system (windows xp for example), can support up to 4gb of ram.
windows xp home can take up to 2. professional can go up to 3 (need to modify the BIOS) however, the 64bit version can handle 4 (you need a 64bit chip, ofcourse) anyway, if you use it to browse the web or basic office stuff, 2GB is more than enough.
I use 2 gigs. RAM is dirt cheap these days. I just picked up 2 gigs of OCZ Platinum for $39.99 after rebate.
vista can handle up to 128GB's of RAm. However this was made into its functionality for future supercomputer and 128 bit applications. (Business, Enterprise and Ultimate) let you get all the way up to 128GB.
Depending on your needs I'd recommend at least 2gb of ram, quality ram of at least 800 mhz dual channel. The more you add the better your computer will run. Some tweaking will also help. Check this for a little system optimization.
Well, it depends on your budget.I would personally recommend 4 gig..I am upgrading pc in few months and i will be installing maximum number of ram's supported by motherboard .
I use 1GB on my desktop computer and it's fine (I can work, surf, listen music and chat with friends without problems). I think you should get 2GB for you...
