If this is in the wrong place could a mod move it, thanks I have a site i need a valuation on: Its PR3, dmoz listed, 1 mil alexa, 4000+ backlinks 200-1300 daily uniques and around $1-2 adsense (although I get alot of clicks) The site is a sports fan site, and isnt really aimed at making profit. I know the usual is 6/8/12 x monthly rev, but as its not revenue based I wondered how others may value it on a different scale. Thanks folks
Valuation are hard, especially with domain names. Basically as with everything else they are worth only as much as anyone is willing to pay. The PR3 in itself isn't worth very much there are loads of them around and you are lucky to get more than $30 based purely on the PR. I try not to get anything under PR4. The Dmoz entry is worth a bit, but again somewhere around $20. 4000+ backlink is interesting, but it odd that it's still only a PR3, I would guess they not that high quality. 200 - 1300 daily unique is good, but how much promotion is required to maintain that? The monthly revenue is low but would cover the hosting. So basically the site in it bare bones would proable sell at most for about $50. This could be a lot more if you could find an enthusiast of that sport. Or flog it to a rival team so they can destory it.
Thanks for the input, the site is around 4/5 months old, and has strong pr5 links, but im unsure if they were there in time for the pr update. Promotion I havent really done any, the traffic are from bookmarks as I have the latest highlights within hours. but $50? i would never sell for such a low price lol
As its got traffic, its worth more than $50, and the DMOZ link, plus 4000 odd backlinks, I'd say somewhere around mid $xxx The domain name might mean its wortha bit more, depending on its brandability!
