Those are the people that want to do it. It's a way of living, like BDSM or beastiality, but it's all done with consent. If we're speaking solely on American prostitution then there's no reason whatsoever as to why they should be doing it forcefully. This country offers many programs, organizations, and governmental help that others would die for. If they don't go out and embrace it it's because their pride is in the way, they're too afraid, or they just plain don't care about their life. Prostitution is like suicide, people think it's their last resort but it's because they don't know about any other options beyond it. The lack of education can make or break these people. People in third world countries don't go around opening their legs for the hell of it. As others have mentioned most of the time these young girls/boys do it for the need of money. They don't even have to do it out of their own will, as a lot of them are sold by their own parents because they themselves refuse to work. It doesn't mean these 17 year old girls love being whores, it means it's the only way they can survive to see another day. These people may act happy, but, of course they're going to fool males (considering those are the majority for sales). They want their money after all. You've no idea how many times I've seen hidden camera shows where the girl starts making fun of the guy behind his back but plays along because she wants his wallet.
I'm actually against prostitution... But we can't blame 'em either... Poverty pushes them to do that... And I guess prostitution isn't just a new act on most of us... well, in fact it is a done during the early times, right?
Although I don't agree with prostitution, but for some it's the only livelihood they got so it's either that or they starve to death. I do hope governments can sponsor and alternative livelihood in place of selling themselves.
I must say that I do not get people who "do not agree with prostitution" (excluding the exploitation aspect). If it is between 2 consenting adults I dont see what difference it is if it is "paid for" literally with cash or by buying someone a few drinks in a night club?
Prostitution is the oldest profession. We can all disagree with the morality behind it, but we have to understand that this is human nature from both genders. We can try to change society as much as we like, but human nature will always prevail.
