I think when it comes to submitting your article to article directories the Alexa can mean more views for your article bringing you more traffic. A higher PR article directory will really only help you if your article is featured, popular or newly listed which will only last a day at the most. Here is a list of a few top alexa article directories I found: http://www.ezinearticles.com 648 Alexa http://www.articlesbase.com/ 10k alexa http://www.articledashboard.com/ 10k alexa http://www.articlecity.com/ 20k alexa http://www.amazines.com/ 18k alexa http://www.articletrader.com 28k alexa http://www.articlecube.com/ 48k alexa http://www.articlerich.com/ 47k alexa I only went through the top 30 PR article directories these are the ones worth mentioning. There could be some lower PR directories I missed.
I like ezinearticles, because when my articles run there they get viewed and the urls get clicked on. I've also used article marketer and they were all over the Net, but I didn't see the same results. Also, no matter which directory you submit to, I'd recommend that you put google alerts on your article titles, just to see where the articles are going. I know of one case where someone was just scraping the title and a few sentences from someone's articles and getting hits that way, with no resource box. Lill
Thanks for that list Daones, as well as the other ones mentioned here... I have my own 'Directory of Article Directories' resource page that's added to or updated periodically, and I know some of these listed sites are already on there but will be sure to add any that aren't! Alexa rankings are pretty sloppy, but people who *do* have that toolbar installed will likely be the exact type of demographic many of us want to reach. FYI, my resource page (in the sig below) ranks by Google PR and categorizes the article directories by type: multiple categories, ecommerce or niche. And along with the 'big boys - ie. ezinearticles.com - it's definitely a good idea to submit to any niche sites related to the theme of your own article/promoted website too. They're good for both Google inbound link relevancy as well as targeted human eyeballs. My 2 cents, - Steve
Determined to get ArticleGOLD on that list and soon. In fact I think we are equal with ArticleRich in terms of reach. I like Bernie though and would be a shame to knock him off
I have found www. freearticalepro.com article directory to be vary different than the rest. They have a free private label rights article category were you can use all the article in this category as your own. I would recommend rewriting article by add least 25% before reusing them. Seems to be a good resource if you have writer's block
Great but I think only ezine could give you some good traffic unless you provide back links to those articles (in other directories)
Yeah im suprised since i started doing regular article marketing focused on a few directories. But ezine gives pretty good traffic.
I would like to see one of my article directories up there one day, but my best one only has an alexa rank of 700K
I use most of these article directories and also goarticles.com and 1888articles.com. I find the benefit is not in getting traffic directly from them. The benefit comes from the backlink created when you lodge an article with them and the subsequent backlinks created when others reprint your article on their site. you do need to be producing interesting, high quality articles though for them to get picked up at all. Think about the users of these sites. They're mostly other webmasters looking for free content, so even if you do get a visitor directly from the article directory, it may not be quality traffic, dependent upon your subject matter.
