I used to use Internet Explorr 6 but I decided to use Firefox and athough I like Firefox I have found that it uses a hell of a lot more energy than Internet Explorer ever did. I have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 but have not used it yet.
I actually like 7 over 6...but it can still be a pain in the you know what. Case in point, if I run the flash from Pandora.com and the interactive radar from weather.com my IE7 will crash 99/100 within 2 mins...what's up with that!!! OPERA FTW!
Which is why it might be good sometimes to advertise a free product but sell ads in there....like the footer..
Quantity does not equate to quality. We all know that. In some respects, it is the fan base or the Open Source crowd that has brought Firefox to many users. IE, well, basically pushed to us via Windows. Many of the features touted in Firefox for eg, originated from Opera. Actually, when the features of Firefox 3 were announced, Slashdot users pointed out that Firefox was becoming Opera. We Opera users were using Tabs back in 1998. It is amusing to see how people now have come to love that. We had features like recover from where you closed the browser, duplicate tab, trashcan(bring back accidently closed tabs), mouse gestures way before anyone else. I can surf faster and use much less memory than both IE and Firefox using Opera. As it has the W3-dev add-in which allows you to see DOM, Computed CSS, code validation etc, I am using Firefox even less now (main reason I used Firefox previously). Those of you who surf the net with your mobile phone, download Opera mini and you'll see how fast and easily you can browse websites.
I have been forced to use FF for the past week and I am hating it. I have to download a milliona nd one plugins (so to speak) and it is way way slow.
I'm using Opera and I sometimes use IE6 for some websites opera can't handle (most of them are bad programmed websites though xD) I personally hate IE7 :|
by the same token, we all know IE blows (so to speak) and so why are so many people using that FF drains memory like the blob, I can attest to that!
