    Hello again,
I have noticed that many people were asking how to place advertisements on proxified pages in zelune. I have taken the liberty to take apart the zelune code and have come up with an effective way to achieve this. You can find the guide here:
    http://proxytoolbox.com/proxifiedpages.php
(This page also includes guides for phproxy and cgiproxy.)

PS. If there is any script that you want to know how to place advertisements on proxified pages for, post here and I will work it out.

So I have a high end VPS with a forum and a few other small sites, and I put my proxy network on it. I think it's dragging due to the fact the it has whm/cPanel. Would that be what's causing the insane server load? I restart apache and mysql about twice a day to improve performance, but I need a better solution.

Should I move my proxies to their own VPS? I'd like to use a control panel because I don't know too much about server management, but cPanel is pretty heavy. Any suggestions? What should I run with proxies to keep server load down?

Sure. Just place the analytics code on the homepage and on the proxified pages.

Why would you need to though?

To check the statistics of the website. Google provides a lot of info with their analytics tracking.

So you know where your traffic is coming from, what keywords people are reaching you by searching, bounce rate, loyalty, where users come from as detailed as the city, goal/conversion tracking. You should never run a site without tracking stats thats bad practice and very inefficient.

Well, yes, but is it worth it to place analitics code on your site? In my experience, site load is increased greatly. The only plausible reason would be if you dont have awstats installed.

First off the stats you get from Awstats are grossly wrong when it comes to proxies, if Awstats says you get 10k uniques you could have had only 500uniques. So if you buy or sell proxies its important to have or request Analytics or some type of similiar tracker not Awstats. I havent done testing but I doubt the analytics code would noticeablely increase load time. The knowledge you get from analytics is so valuable if you want to make the most possible from every single impression. Plus its so much easier to read.

Ah, you need help verifying it. I can do this part for you, but you will need to change all your passwords afterwards.

Forgive me if any of these questions have been answered already (this is a monster of a thread) but as someone who has never run a proxy site I'm a little confused. I would love it if someone with a little experience could provide some answers to the following:-

    - From what I've read people are making in the region of $1 - 2 / day. Would it be reasonable to assume that the business model is therefore to run multiple proxy sites?

    - Would I be right in thinking that another reason for multiple sites is that they are routinely banned by the firms restricting access at schools etc?

    - If that is true does each site need to be on a separate IP address? I would assume they are likely to ban the IP address as well as the domain name.

    - Options for scripts seem to be limited. I've heard of PHProxy, Zelune and CGIProxy. The individual behind PHProxy seems to have stopped development leaving issues around logging in to some sites unresolved. Zelune seems to be very new and I couldn't find much info on how successful the script was. CGIProxy apparently is very resource intensive. Is this a fair summary of the market or is there an alternative I'm missing?

    - How much traffic do you need to reach the $ 1 - 2 / day mark? The reason I ask is the small number of adwords promotions on google search for terms like 'free proxy', 'web proxy', etc

Thanks in advance to anyone willing and able to answer the above.
