I decided to make few directories. I think there are good ways to optimize ads on directories, which i believe can have good niche.
If you're planning to have advertisements such as (Google ads), I think you should reconsider that. I don't think web directories are the perfect money makers, one of the reasons being, web directories often attract webmasters (free web directories, often attract submitters) and from my experience the submitters are "adblind" meaning they can tell if that is an advertisement or not, and webmasters are usualy ads blind. I would say make them paid, but offer unique content and well-written articles; make the web directory as attracting as possible, add features users may enjoy while browsing through your web directory. Make sure your visitors turn into users. Meti
Metros best of luck for your new biz but bro i must say think again. its not as profitable biz as u are thinking. i'll suggest take a look on effort u'll have to make your directory visible.
Web directories (paid) can be very profitable. Few free directories have enough quality traffic (other than submitters) to generate ad revenue.
Not even a cent But I treat it as a hobby, quite satisfying to see your directories slowly filling up.
Just voted, my earnings are not that great But still I love my directories. I think that Bidding directories also make good amount of money.
I have poor days and fruitful days with mine, mostly poor days to be honest, im weird like that i like putting myself through hell for pennies.
Correct me if I am mistaken, but wasn't the OP refering to google advertisements and so on, still it is not your problem as the OP wasn't very clear on this issue. Thanks, Meti
I've never made much from adsense on directories, but I have turned a profit on every directory that I've started. My last directory that I sold was making 20-30$ a week from link submissions.
