I've always wanted to move to Amsterdamn. I visited last year during mid-March for 5 days and had a great time. I just loved the culture, people, houses, shops, and laws
afaik, No Infact Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai are one of the worst cities to live for a foreigner. If you want to locate to india for peace and want to explore may be religion and spirituality than you may want to look at North east of India or may be Kerala. There is a very small state Himachal Pradesh in India which is located in himalayan range and is very popular among people who want to look for peace.
Hey Will, Since this is such a long thread when you have time could you recap on what your top 5 choices and why are? I'm sure you know what you're talking about and I plan on making the move in a month or two I hope. I'd love to hear your final input
I suppose all of these factors are important, but what about seeing family and friends? Do you plan on flying out all the time? I suppose a language is learned easy enough, if you have the knack for it.
In Tax Havens Today, Hoyt Barber lists his seven top tax havens: Austria Belize Hong Kong Liechtenstein Panama St. Kitts and Nevis Switzerland Austria, Liechtenstien, and Switzerland are all European countries. Hong Kong is probably not a good idea anymore. Belize and Panama are Central American countries. St. Kitts and Nevis is in the Carribean. Something for almost everyone.
That was a huge surprise for me too -- especially as I have spent so much time in Vienna. The secret, it turns out, is that these benefits are only applicable for non Austrian citizens! This does not apply to the other countries on this list.
Try Thailand, you will find the people friendly and the cost of living is very low. You can live like a King.
I can´t live in a place colder than San Diego. Did 5 months of Europe last year and am still shivering from the cold.
Canada fails not only because of the climate, but also because the government has very little respect for the peoples natural rights and freedoms. In addition, the tax system is unduly onerous and the medical system is poor due to government interference. There are some tricky strategies to avoid the insanely high taxes paid by Canadian citizens by avoiding gaining citizenship. I don't know too much about Thailand, but a 37% tax rate with VAT on top of that doesn't seem to enticing. I'm hoping to visit Thailand and take a look for myself.
Well here in Belgium our taxes may be high but we have a unique social security system. And I think you can't move to switserland, that country is very strict. I would never want to leave Belgium.
One thing you really have to respect about Belgium are their contributions in WWII. They are the main reason the European theater was so successful. Always wanted to visit Belgium. It's on my list!
I used to live in Eindhoven, which is very near Belgium. Nice people, good chocolate, and good beer. You can get Swiss residency by founding a company that will create local employment. Hey, who doesn't need a secretary? After twelve years of residency, you can apply for naturalization. I couldn't recommend Switzerland as a place to move, as their tax rules are much better for people who don't live there than for people who do live there.
