Is there a max length your domain should be for SEO purposes? My domain is 21 Characters without the www or .com, is that ok?
can't see why it would be a problem. are there some decent (or good!) keywords in it? * i'll go out on a limb and say > short or long has little impact either way. GOOD LUCK.
I would say that would be out on a limb for sure. You need to remember the importance of keyword prominance in your internal URLs. Easily stated "The closer to the left you can get your keyword in the url the better". If your domain is long this will reduce the prominance (relevance) of the keywords in your URLs.
I have a 38 character domain name with only two pages on it. That site does just as well as similar domains I own. In fact, it seems to do a bit better for some reason. However, if you are going to have a lot of pages on that site, the URLs would get very long, which probably would be a problem for SEO.
This is true but the value of hitting a site-wide keyphrase in the domain would surely outweight dilluting deep keyphrases in the extended URL. It is something to consider though, especially if your site-wide keyphrase(s) aren't 50%+ of the traffic you're targetting.
In your meta tag keywords, only repeat those keyphrases that occur in your Title, URL, Headings or Body text. Very little weighting is given to Meta Tags these days, so don't give too much time to these and don't expect much (if any) improvement from including them.
Its good to practice: title should be upto 65 to 70 chars keywords should be upto 250 chars Desc should be upto 250 chars
The end user is who you need to be aware of long names because most will typo out ... and your hard work is down the drain. BTW..Google has no preference as long as it is quailty Content that is relvant to your keywords. Tk
