Doing link exchanges. Any good for SEO?

I was wondering whether it's a good idea to do link exchanges with relevant sites at all? Will it benefit my site at all in terms of SEO or link popularity? Or should i just stick to one way link building which is proving very difficult?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

just do it with a related quality site. Don't do it as a hobby as google tired of excessive linking
Yes, link trade is one of the ways to improve link popularity

As much as you can do one way link, it is much better..

 

I prefer one way backlinks

But linkexchanges are olso good but do them in a good amount (not to many) and only with related sites

 

Why u want to go for 2 way linking.It better and effective is one way linking.Try directories or social bookmarking sites.

 

I agree, if you can do one way link then go for it rather than link trades,.
Directory submission can provide quality backlinks but when it comes to SB, most SB uses no follow attribute so I think focus on other ways or search for SB that not using this attribute

 

One way links to relevant websites is always helpful , an exchange does take it value down .

 

Link exchanges can be good in traffic building, but in Search engines, I think it would be difficult unless your site has not been reported exchanging links

 

An exchange isn't bad as long as you do it with clean, on theme sites.

 

It's OK to do link exchanges with relative sites. But still one way links are much more valuable..
