Does anyone have expierience from John Chows reviews? Do they all appear in his blog? Do you get a good audience from the traffic? And, how much traffic did you recieve?

Might be worth if you have a site related to his niche (making money online etc), or else i dont see any point in wasting $400 dollars for a 1 day traffic.

Well, I see it as potential traffic, I might get 10,000/UV for that day and not get one user or click through on my adverts. But I have thought about his niche, and pretty much every webmaster wants to 'make money online'. So I was thinking about it, and to tell you the truth - I really don't know. That's why I wanted to know if anyone has tried it before. Also this will be the stand off point for the rest of my prodigies, as I have one site which I have 100% confidence it will make me a nice figure of cash, so I am hoping this can give me a general idea for the future.

The $400 itself I am not too bothered about risking with, don't get me wrong I would like to spend it wisely. But risks are good too ;).

It will hardly be one-day traffic since the review will probably be stay on the homepage for around 3 days. Also, the post will be having its own page as well. I would try to get a review too but I don't have that kind of money to spend.

Guest posting is usually more affective if the content you've posted is good. I remember doing a post on problogger.net a while back which brought me heaps of links and traffic. Who would link to a review about another site? I would not, although I would link to quality content.

techblog is right. I do agree that guest blogging is more effective in a long run. However, the review will come in handy when you can't land a guest blogging opportunity.

Thanks guys for your input, although I think I might risk it and see. And then I'll post an article about all the statistics, revenue, draw back, etc, so you can all get a real insight. I think I might request the review for the day of launch so I can build some hype :p.

i gained around 4000 extra visits. Plenty more natural backlinks too. Pretty cheap traffic when you work it out...

the chow effect? yea - but I got on there free - link baiting is so fun, but the chow affect didn't really convert too much and only lasted for that day with a small amoutn of 'dribble' traffic

Yep.. We did a paid, and found it was more eyeballs, then buying with a good product to customer match(most users dont have $$$ to spend).. don't know what the long term value is for branding. :D I still think it was worth the one time shot for branding, and getting people to remember the products name when they see it other locations.

Getting visitors is one thing. Making money is quite another.

No, $400 is a waste of money due to the fact not that many read his reviews, and it isn't up that long.

You wont be able to get it back, plus profit.

    But, hell, try it anyway.

Learn from experience. ... Then teach others what you have learned.

All he does is reviews these days. If you keep eating 10 kgs stuff each day, its not gonna make u a bodybuilder.

Now everyone knows these are paid to reviews which are often positively return and offer no criticism or value to the end user.
