    Folks,

I've tried EVERYTHING! Here's the list of what have I done:

    - Done SEO
    - Done Link Submission to over 100 directories (thanks, surfaddict ;))
    - Wrote articles on eZine
    - Bookmarked my sites to dozens of Social Bookmarking sites
    - Even advertised on AdWords for a month.

But I simply do not cross over 200 UV daily!

I have more than 100 pages of UNIQUE content, and a vBulletin forum with 100% ad revenue sharing!

Just look at this site: www.ad-sensing.com and http://forum.ad-sensing.com

    What the **** is wrong?

    Thanks!

Time & Patience. Your niche is obviously well saturated. It's like a fine wine, it takes time to get better, and every now and then a cheap wine breaks through - your's is obviously the fine wine ;).

Put up a wordpress blog. Find an autoposter such as wp-omatic and use some of the rss feeds from your forum in it.

Keep adding more content. At the same time keep getting more quality backlinks. The more content you get, the more google traffic you will get. Backlinks will boost your rankings which will in turn boost traffic. Keep going. Its a long road, dont give up!

I hope you are not expecting traffic quick.

Also submitting to 100 directories is a 25 minute job for someone with a list of them. 100 directories is a skid mark to what the pro's do. As for myself I like to pull about 15,000 spread in 500's thoughout a year. It really starts to matter if you do it that way.

Hey, 200 UV per day is great. Have patience, keep working, and you'll get there.

Have patience and do not give up! However, I would try

    * A redesign. The current one is a bit bland, I think something more web 2.0 with vivid colors would do you good.

Well, actually, that's about it. There's not much wrong with your blog and the content is nice. I'd try a different layout or theme though. Keep up the good work. :)

I´ve got the same problem you have, the difference is that you cant reach 200uniques, i cant reach a STEADY 70uniques (probably different markets/niches i have a LOT of competition and i´m just using blogs).
What i learn is that IT TAKES TIME...yeah...more than we like but it takes TIME. I´m COMPLETELY SURE that if you take care of your site and keep it updated within 6months your gonna reach that goal and in a 1year time the day you get less than 250 will be rare.

believe me , it takes time :(

I might as well mention this, even though you probably already know this.

Getting from 0 to 200UV a day is tough, but the funny thing is that getting from 500 to 1000 isn't hard. Eventually you get people who add your site to their favorites and link it to their sites, blogs, and what not.

It does get easier, but in the beginning, it's kind of embarassing.

Here, I'll show you an example of one of my sites. I'm going to tell you the hours I've spent on promoting and advertising it to show you that their is light at the end of the tunnel.

Jan: Did everything wrong, meta tag was wrong, keywords, horrible adsense placement, couldn't get a good link if my life depended on it, picked a horrible host to go with(400 directory submits)
Feb: Trying to learn what I did for the next month(400 directory submits)
March: Doing SEO optimization, ad-sense opt, onsite optimization, choosing better keywords and researching on them(400 directory submits)
April: 4 hours per day of learning and mildly using basic ways to get traffic (stumbleupon)(400 directory submits)
May: 2 hours per day doing advanced link building and promoting(400 directory submits)
June: 1 hour per day doing advanced link building and promoting(400 directory submits)
July: 1 hour per day doing advanced link building and promoting(100 directory submits)
Aug: 3 hours a day of agressive advanced link building, promoting, and advertising(150 directory submits)
Sept: 2 hours a week on promoting
Oct: Didn't even look at the site that month
Nov: Got married, when in the site once or twice
Dec: I almost forget what this site even looks like (just joking)

Now if you take a look at the traffic trend it doesn't really line up with my effort. Basically what I'm showing you is that the beginning was tough, but now it builds itself. I can't say how many backlinks this site has, but it's sure to be getting 50 to 100 every day by itself. So, be patient. You'll be stable if you keep with your efforts to the site.

I think 200 UVs a day is good. I currently get only about 40 and my site is 15 months old (or thereabouts). I'm not actively promoting in the manner that I need to though. Some of the posts in this forum are giving me the inspiration needed and I think I'll go for it a bit more.
Best of luck in getting past the 200 mark!

I would say the design has nothing to do with traffic

go search out some related sites and see if you can get some links back to your site
related links are harder to get than doing 100 directory submissions but worth a lot more

...I should add that when I started my site, I made the decision that I would do it all for free, so I don't pay for anything except my hosting which is frankly pennies and even srated off being free. I'm fully expecting to take another year to get to 200!!

Thank you for sharing that. It actually makes a lot of sense. In the beginning nobody knows about your site so it's a struggle. But (if your site is worth it) once you do get some users it will eventually explode.
