I never worked on Hourly Rates before! need your help!

    I am proposed by a web company to work for them, and they asked me to give them my hourly rates...

    i always worked on fix rates... so i have of idea what to say :(

    So guys...

    Please tell me what the Normal Hour Rates of a GOOD Web & Graphics designers?

    Tell me as:

    What are the Minimum Rates?
    What are the Maximum Rates?


    for a good designer!

    I think 5 ~ 10$ per hour are decent rates for designers.

    This is a hard question, which is ultimately up to you. But my advice is to not undersell yourself. Don't propose a rate that is low just to guarantee the job, propose a rate that you are comftorable with and then ask for more once you've established yourself as a good worker.

    ya right.... i think i first give a little higher then what i am expecting , and if they really like to have me then we can negotiate

    Rate mainly depends on the quality and experience, I guess... I'm just a baby in the field of designing :p... Just shared my opinion... that's it ;)

    Maybe if your hiring a child to design for you.

    Don't undersell yourself, it's a big mistake I made once (although it was for a friend, so I didn't really mind).

    If you are good (and have a good portfolio to prove it) then don't be afraid to charge $15-20 an hour. Make sure they know they will be getting top quality work from you before stating your hourly rate.

    ps Check this out, it explains a good way of deciding how much a design should cost (I know it's not what you are looking for, but i'm sure there is something in there to help you).
