account deactivation...what a pain!

I just got an email from CJ telling me that my account would be deactivated unless have some account activity (sales). I've been building my sites, adding the code and such, but haven't started promoting them yet so no sales. But now I have to worry about being deactivated and then having to redo all the code for all the various sites/products if I don't keep my account activated.

I already had one account deactivated but that was before I was planning to promote anything at all there and just wanted it for the future. Was pretty upset they deactivated it then but now that I spend time setting up ad code and such with my new account it's going to be a real pain if they do it again.

Why the hell do they need to deactivate accounts like that? I could understand if after a year there is activity but most other networks don't scrape accounts like that.

Can anyone suggest a fast and easy product to push/sell so I can get some kind of activity for now to keep my account alive? Anyone know how much needs to be made to keep your account, or any sales at all will do it? And if you make a sale but then not another for a couple months do you still have to worry about them coming through and killing your account or is it just for new and untouched accounts?

Maybe I should just move on and use the others out there. Anyone know of any other networks that work well with ebay (besides auction ads). All the scripts I use, use CJs PID for ebay :(

yeah, I'd rather get a real sale but not using CJ before and not really being much of a marketer yet, I'm not sure what would be an easy product to sell just to get some activity on my account.

For the most part my sites will be based on ebay through cj.

I also had another question but don't want to spam with another thread so will ask here and hope for an answer lol. Anyone know how long the cj ebay cookie last? If someone visits my site and clicks on an ebay ad from cj and goes to ebay will I be credited for any buys they make over time or just that one visit? If it is cookie based, anyone know when the cookie expires?

Why did you sign up if you don't have any sites ready?

Yeah that is really a pain in the arse (sorry for the word..).. This is one of the few networks i know they actually deactivate (freeze) your account if you don't make any sales and remove you earnings if you don't make enough monthly earnings! :/

What can i say.. I can suggest some alternatives if you want that don't deactivate you what so ever..

why not? I've gotten ideas for sites and products to promote after seeing what offers a network has in the past.

ouch...they will remove earnings too? So not only do you have to have some activity there is a minimum earnings level to keep your account activated and keep them from claiming your earnings?

And yeah, I'd like some alternatives if you know some. I have plenty of ad networks but need a good one that works well with ebay.

I think they do  I'm working with CJ for over 2 years now and i still can't understand how exactly they work! The help guides are kinda useless IMHO.. But i remember when i was inactive (for some reason..) for 2 months, my account was losing money

If you want eBay then for now stay with CJ.. I'm working with eBay for over 2 years and made some $xx,xxx until now :)

Just set up an amazon link or something and make a purchase yourself or pay a friend to. If you plan on paying to much just use the money for PPC and make some actual sales.

    JUST SPEAK TO THEM!

Its all I did! I signed up to CJ a long time ago and didnt bother with it for ages and then my account was to be disabled. I spoke to them and they simply reset it.

Known situation. I was deactivated once with about 30 EUR balance which I have made on voip niche maybe a year ago. I have signed up again later and there was no any positive balance. I just forgot about these pennies and now making a lot of more with the same website.

why dont you just list something in Ebay for like a dollar and then buy it through your link.

im sure you wont mind paying a few dollars to stop your account from freezing!

See that is just BS and almost seems like fraud. Wonder how much they "make" from all the "pennies" on accounts they just decide to close but don't bother sending out checks to those accounts. Even if their terms state it somehow it just doesn't seem legal to close an account without paying out the earned revenue. Might end up opening them up to a class action eventually.

xerive, I did try to email them twice after my first account was deactivated. Never got any kind of warning or notice when they closed that one...just realized I wasn't able to log in and eventually saw other people talking about it. I tried to email them about this new account and this is what they replied with:

Seems a silly way to do things to me but what do I know, I'm a noob lol.

I have since made a few dollars in my account but not sure if I need to make a specific amount or just any activity is enough.

That may keep his CJ account from getting deactivated but then puts a risk on his ebay account(s).

I'm not too familiar with the eBay/CJ link portion but I was assuming that the poster meant list on eBay with one account and buy from themselves.

Put up a GoDaddy affiliate link and buy a domain. Anyone can become a GoDaddy affiliate, and just buy a .info domain for $2.
