After all these months of testing, Yahoo has not managed to deliver contextually relevant ads at all. I see the same unrelated ads all the times. The ads are just too broad from the category I chose in Ad Targeting. Although PPC is high, the CTR is so bad around 0.3%. If this continues, I'll replace YPN with BidVertiser. Am I doing anything wrong? It just seems the YPN bot doesn't crawl my website at all.
Why not just use adsense/adwords, its much better then yahoo and pays more, relevant ads etc. Personally i hate bidvertiser, you get low ppc, but i guess its ok for advertisers Tyler
you arent doing anything wrong - YPN is just totally retarded, and completely incapable of delivering a targeted ad more than 2x in a row.. And oh, if you use ad-targeting for say, "bicycles" (because your site is about bikes), you will still get ads for things like "caskets" and "shovels", or whatever - then those retards at Yahoo will remove the ad-targeting option from your account because of YOUR poor conversions.. That's exactly what they did to me.. read thru the forum here, and you will see that Yahoo publisher network must be run by complete idiots.
I believe Adsense sucks. Why does YPN suck? I heard that they are the ones that have the higher payouts.
Good read and thanks... Yea - I have never been banned, But there ads just wont adjust for the live of it. Why yahoo..............wh..........y.............
YPN seems to pay more on average per click, but their targeting is so bad, you can't get clicks. then they penalize you for untargeted clicks. adsense may not be perfect but at least they show ads about your topic.
I am currently out of the loop on Adsense, they closed my account for no apparent reason... guess I had some idiot clickign around too much on my website and they got suspicious. Settling for YPN seems like a bad idea though, I might just move away from ad networks altogether
Bidvertiser ads are just as irrelevant (in my experience). Google has the most relevant ads. All ad placement systems heavily rely on your domain name so make sure the name is relevant to your content. Good luck.
I was running ypn on a arcade site and all my ads were hotels and travel, I agree google runs the most relevant ads of all the publisher networks
