    Surprise, surprise the tapes contained

    Quote
They were made as "an internal check" on the CIA's use of harsh interrogation techniques, believed to include waterboarding, a technique that involves restraining a suspect and pouring water on them to simulate drowning.

Nooooo, you mean just like they completely destroyed the evidence of the twin towers and building 7? Or have not made public the surveillance tapes at the Pentagon? Someday the American people will find out the real truth, but someday I mean like 50 yrs from now.

What evidence was destroyed of Twin Towers? Every news station has video feed of this tragic event.

Let me ask you this do you always believe everything you see on TV? And never ever question the possibility that those towers could have been imploded after the airplanes hit them? Maybe you can start doing some research just to completely clear your conscience 100% as opposed to just believing what mainstream media feeds you.

This thread has nothing to do with the twin towers or pentagon but everything to do with a recent effort to eliminate any evidence with regard to actions that could be investigated and prosecuted.

It is so wearying to hear Bush go on and say that the US doesn't torture people and then visual evidence is destroyed that seems to completely disagree with his statements.

Long after the Bush administration is gone there will be evidence uncovered that will question enormous volumes of actions by the administration with regard to how it governed and how it communicated to the public, what was true, what wasn't. I can't help but think that some will be prosecuted down the line.

These animals need to be stopped sooner than later before they wreak more havoc across the globe. BUSH, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Ramsfeld and their likes are dangerous people that have ruined America. They need to be tried for treason and crimes against the American people.

This is bad news for people who don't support:

    Torture
    Obstruction of justice
    Tampering with evidence
    ???

Yeah... that's right. US was supposed to be a free, open, libertarian, transparent society, isn't it?

Al Qaeda members are trained in what were allowed to do and can't do in interrogation; torture as some of you call it throws them off. I say we go back to the fighting style like we did in WWII, any German solider caught fighting out of uniform was shot dead on the spot.

Comforting and re-assuring news just coming in
    http://edition.cnn.com/2007/US/12/07/cia.videotapes/index.html
U.S. President George W. Bush "has no recollection" of videotapes of CIA interrogations of some al Qaeda suspects or of plans to destroy the tapes, a White House spokeswoman said.

Thats about normal rhetoric from this dude

    What a shambles

seriously what the fuck is wrong with the united states now. Bush should be in a prison cell for the rest of his life. I hate stupid people in america. And what still amazes me is bush is still alive. although he has one of the biggest security of any president ever (i wonder why...) that he still walks this earth.

Where are terrorists when you really need them. get your shit together terrorists and do something about that big white house on penn avenue!

He is sounding like Gonzales now. How typical! These insincere, lying SOBS have some nerve. I just can't believe that people in this country do not express more public outrage about this behaviour. This is our own doing, and if we do not change course soon we are doomed!

I agree with you on most points, but reference to doomed is in my opinion a bit premature, I am pretty sure that someone with some common sense will 'come out of the woodwork' to sort out this unwholly mess that exists today

I really do hope so. I want all people to live life in peace. When we all die we will not take any of these material junk with us, so greed for more junk is whats causing us spiritual blindness.

I reckon the CIA should use more humane techniques. Something that involves pig blood. After all, this should not be considered torture right?

I just can't believe the idiocy. What's next, getting a lawyer for the Al Qaida suspects before and DURING the interrogation? Or maybe the terrorists are a fabricated thing? And maybe our soldiers are killed by CIA spies? When are these idiotic beliefs going to stop and when will return to logic prevail?
