    Hello,

    Should we enable the options

    Use noindex for Categories:
    Use noindex for Archives:
    Use noindex for Tag Archives:

    in the plugin http://wp.uberdose.com/2007/03/24/all-in-one-seo-pack/?

I checked some tops blogs some of them are using the noindex tags for archives and others are not.......... If I use noindex for archive pages then will it have any impact on SERPs....?

Don't know about serps but using no index will help you to have less pages in google supplementry index that should benefit a site IMO .

I use no index on Categories and Tag Archives, but allow indexing of Archives. I believe you can allow indexing on one of the three choices without penalty, otherwise there may appear to be duplicates. You might be able allow just the Tag Archives to be indexed and get the benefit of keyword tagging, unless you have many of the same tags on each post.

I believe that checking all three as noindex would mean that only your main page and the posts on that main page would be indexed.

Indexing is when a search engine (eg. Google) crawls your site and records what it sees. If you set noindex, Google won't crawl those pages and they won't appear in the search results!

I think we must enable index for Categories and must disable for it monthly archive pages, and daily archive pages... there is no use with that... except that the total number of indexed pages will be maximum.........

If your using a date based permalink structure, should you still disallow all those archive pages? If so how could that be accomplished?

    Thanks,

If you are not getting any traffic on categories pages then put noindex on them. One of my blog gets a lot of traffic on category pages, so I have allowed them to be indexed. While on my other blog all the traffic come to posts, so I have put noindex on the category pages.

I think you must enable the index for categories no matter whether u get traffic to them or not... it helps in one way or the other as it contains the keywords.... but a date archive URL is useless as it doesnt not contain any keywords.......

No traffic means No Use. The only use the categories would have is that they would maintain a good Link Juice Flow.

Yes put noindex on them. But keep them linked from all the pages.
