Hello, I just received an offer on a domain that I'd registered 2 weeks ago. I wanted to start an auction, but being aware that the new owner will not be able to get domain until the middle of Januray (the 60-day rule), I feel funny about it. What do I do in this situation?
I would contact the person who made the offer (if this is possible) and would negotiate with him/her privately and then you could just push it to his account. However, I'm not really sure about this. Maybe you can launch an auction.
Sedo screens all the buyer-seller messages and would never allow a private negotiation suggestion I'll email Sedo and ask them what to do to play fair.
The "60 day rule" does not apply to domains pushed to another account at the same registar. The rule states you can not transfer it to another registrar.
Yes, but there is no way of warning the buyer that he'll have to create an account with a new registrar in order to take posession of this name. I did find out though what I wanted to make sure of: Sedo will notify him/her with a suggestion to create an account at the current registrar in order to accept the push. So that is what I needed to know - just trying to play as fair as I can thanks for your posts!
You can edit the description of the domain and tell them about the push. That's what I did. Just click on the domain name in the management screen.
