Hey guys, What do you think of this design: www.insanegb.com Is it good for a free hosting service?? What do you think? Thanks in advance
Yes it does look good as a free webhost, however I would code the ipanel script into the design as well, to make the users not think they are changing sites and make it a little nicer.
advertise button doesnt work ... the hosting looks awsome 5GB Web Space 20GB Data Transfer cPanel what you want more ? btw ... is it longterm ?
I think it is nice, not too cluttered with details, simple and easy to navigate! Can we start signing up?
It's a nice domain name and : 5GB Web Space 20GB Data Transfer UNLIMITED MySQL Databases UNLIMITED Addon Domain Names UNLIMITED FTP Accounts UNLIMITED E-Mail Accounts cPanel What can you ask for more for FREE? Great one.
The layout is nice, however you need to add some contrasting colors into your it. Also try to make your packages look more prominent. Theyre just too dull and are not "popping" out.
A great start for a free site actually. It even looks professional, with a few glitches though. (in my view of course) The header itself looks absolutely great actually. I love this kind of designs. Your HTML is almost clean too, though you mixed up a few HTML/XHTML tags (you closed the link tag in XHTML-way, but its a HTML4 document). Congratulations with your CSS being completely valid. You've a good balance of HTML/CSS, just like it should be. Great thing, as I don't see that much yet. The design: earlier was mentioned the contrast wasn't enough. I checked it with the W3 standards (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - 1.4.3, using CCA tool), and indeed, almost every text didn't match the described guidelines, except the white text "WEBHOSTING" in the logo and the dark ".com" in the logo. Possibly you could make the contrast difference a little higher? The menu looks very nice in the beginning, but once you move over you make the text bolder, and the background a 'mirrorred' gradient. I wouldn't make the text bold, and also I don't like mirrorred gradients that much for menu's as it makes me think about clan sites (which usually are amateuristic). Maybe you could have non-bold text with a 'non-mirrorred' gradient or a flat darker/lighter background overlay? That'ld be absolutely great. I do like the rounded borders of your design, as that on its way makes it look more professional. I talked a little back about the "glitches" in your design. Well, see image below. I'ld do it myself like that; as that'll give the effect that the panel is liked to the header, and connects all panels together that way. About the last part, the news/welcome below the page, looks a little bit plain. You could possibly add a image to it? Also, the title ("Welcome to ...") could maybe put in small cap? (css is font-variant: small-caps; )? It'll immediatly get a little more bloggy style, but still very cool. The "registrations are open" link is a little too big I think. You could replace it by an image by the way, which looks much, much more attractive Even though my few comments, its already very good for a free hosting site. I hope I helped you in some way with this. -hans
Hello KingNomar I had a chance to go over your Free Hosting Website today. First of all... thanks for offering a service to users on the net. My Thoughts Domain Catchy and easy to remember. Good pick! Logo & Header Logo is simple enough but I think the header could be updated to reflect a web 2.0 feel or something similar. Template As mentioned earlier in this this thread... I would also recommend that you keep with your rounded corner theme. The top corners of your template could be rounded... plus the mid section where you provide your Free Offer could use rounded corners. Registration / Signup Page I found your registration page a little confusing. One reason is that it does not have your template associated with it... plus it doesn't request all the extra information such as name and email. I'm not sure if this changes as I hadn't tried the whole sign up process. I had to click back in order to find my way back to the main site. I think other users may get lost in this section if they wanted to go get a domain name first before signing up. Forums Page Same as registration.... the template changes and makes you feel like you are on another site. I'd recommend integrating your forum into your main template. Contact Us Page Would it be possible to create a form for the contact page? Always nice for users so that they don't have to use their own email client or open another page to access their webmail. Client Login Page Same as Forums and Registration page. Conclusion Overall... its a good site but could use some updating in regards to design and it would be good to see some integration of the main template throughout the entire site. This review was done using 3 web browsers (FireFox 2.0.0.9, Internet Explorer 6.02 & Opera 9.24) on Windows XP SP2. I do hope this was helpful. Respectfully, Lhlalyam
