Any suggestions for a newbie to blogging?

 

Here is some elementary tips

• Create unique articles
• Focus on quality and not quantity
• Don't worry about the traffic, if you do some SEO and have some good articles then the visitors will come
• Make the URL's Search engine friendly, such as date/the-blog-post and not p?=1

First Take good topic for blogging
if you can select a topic which is interesting to you as well as public,that will be the right one..

To answer your question, my main advice is for you to get as many links as you can to your site from other blogs relevant to yours. Also, you should also learn some deep linking, which is the internal way of building links to your own blog.

Do directory submissions.

Join social networking sites (sphinn, stumbleupon, blogcatalog) and be an active and contributing member...this will get you noticed and can generate more interested traffic, and you can find likeminded bloggers who may be willing to link to your content provided it is of good and relevant quality.
