I am in the ringtone niche. After reading through most of the threads on here I was able to find some good keywords that dont offer alot of competition. What I have not read anything on is where to put these keywords... When I think of keywords I am thinking of meta keywords the ones that relate to your topic/site. <===That statement might be why I am doing a poor job with my current site. I have a good user base but its because of word of mouth not SEO. This is what I do now....on my mobilereelz dot com website.... I use terms on my title that pertain to my site Meta keywords & Meta description are relevant After reading the posts on this thread this is what I will implement. I will use the keywords I have found atleast twice or thrice on the actual page...not spammy just incorporate it to the text (Example: The ringtone creator is free to use. Just upload the file to our ringtone creator and fill in the blanks.) See how I used ringtone creator twice without just spamming it all over the site? Is that good or is there a better way? I now have a list of tools that I can use to check the progress of my website in the overall rankings. I will use these tools atleast once a week. Is there anything else that I can do to improve the SEO in this highly competitive niche?
Yes, go buy yourself Aaron's book called SEOBook. There is a good amount of stuff your doing that you dont need to be doing, and you need to target your content in another way. Ie Meta tags are your lease needed, while title tags, and content terms with plenty of links is where you want to look, as well as your link design. Get his ebook, and take it to kinkos and print & bind it into a book for like $25. You can thank me later, just do it!
Use also your targeted keywords as anchor text when building links. You can build links by submitting your site to directories, forums posting on related forum niche, blogging. You can also join bookmarking site to add traffic to your site.
first of all, links with property anchor (your choosen keywords) - dynamic and static. then you can check backlinks your competition and try to put there your links where they have. Also put some keywords to site's title. In short.
Build quality links and promote your site thru blogging, social bookmarking, joining related forums, etc. Include the latest and the hottest thing about your niche to attract traffic..
Search the competitive niche or keywords using the Google Trends and Yahoo buzz. Through this you may know what is the top searches that possible you can used in the promoting of your site. After that is the link building, get more backlinks by submitting your site to high traffic site and related site.
I have implemented some changes to my site to improve its SEO...I will leave it with the new changes for now and will follow up with it in a few weeks. I am not expecting instant results but I am expecting results in the future. I will be following changes closely and will report back with any changes positive/negative...
