Pls, help me out
The same way you get traffic to static websites. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=585850 That could assist you.
You have to have good original content and update often. Then you need to take any chance to advertise. This includes directories, links on related niche sites, and article writing. Find forums with a related theme and add to the signatures and become active and mention your site as often as possible in the forum. Avoid spamming and avoid the pay for traffic schemes. It is no different than advertising any business, the more you get the name out there, the more traffic you will get.
I'd recommend "Showing Off Your Blog" Also try Blog Engage Most sites get considerable traffic from members as well as search engine traffic if done properly and lot's of constructive criticism.
Here´s my series about increasing blog traffic: http://www.marcorichter.net/blog-traffic/increase-blog-traffic.html
This is something that I've been trying to do for my new blog, and I keep reading that it's all about good content. I've also added RSS and email signup links to make it easier for people to subsribe.
oh oh you're good I tell you! Cheers for the rep mate! Yes Blog Engage is like digg but for bloggers ONLY!!
You should have a look at this article which I wrote earlier this year on blogging and making money..The link is http://cyberspirits.blogspot.com/2007/06/blogger-tips-n-tricks-to-drive-more.html
But what if it's a "quotations" blog like mine? I've put all quotes in blockquotes, hopefully Google is intelligent enough to know that this has to be unoriginal content. Any ideas or suggestions?
Make sure that you give them credit, and make it clear that you quoted these topics. However you still get some minus points from Google.
I've been directing traffic to my sports blog on message boards. My blog posts are basically great conversation starters on sports message boards.
Nice blogs, just post your link everywhere its applicable. Digg and Stumble articles. try BlogCatalog. Lost of Linkbacks.
