im doing an auto insurance offer with YSM right now and im getting a very low amount of clicks. I have 2,000 keywords all of them have "quote" in them. i am not using "car insurance" only "car insurance quote" keywords. I am bidding $4.00 per click and i am on the first page for most of my keywords, and when i do get a click most of the time they convert. So my conversion is good but the problem is my CTR is terrible. While im sleeping, ill wake up at 6 am and ill have like 3 clicks, and 500 impressions, then as the day goes on i will get up to 3,000 impressions and still remain at the 3 clicks. I dont get why im only getting few clicks. I am split testing my ads and everything. I was thinking about pausing all the keywords that are either getting 100 impressions or no clicks, or the keywords that are on page 10 and above. By doing this im assuming my ctr will raise, then my qs will raise, then my cpc will go down and then ill unpause them keywords. Does that sound like a good thing to do? Also my QS is stuck at 3. No matter what i do, i cant get it above. Is it because my CTR? When i wake up my overall ctr is .60 -1.5% , then at the end of the day it is .30. Terrible. If i get my ctr up will my QS go up? Or is my account tainted now because my ctrs are so bad. Any advice, from those doing auto insurance quotes?
What's your best amount of volume you've ever received? I find that impressions usually are best for me from 9am -12pm and from 4pm-12pm. Yahoo's quality index is based solely on CTR. You could try rewriting some of your ads, putting your best performing keywords in separate adgroups, or deleting your campaign and restarting it to redo your QS.
auto insurance for me doesnt seem to get alot of traffic..im bidding 4$ per click and getting small profit...but the most traffic ive ever gotten is 3k impressions a day and like 12 clicks
I think you need to ramp up your impressions by adding more keywords. Remember volume is the key. Try things like auto insurance quote online state or city. There's thousands of cities and towns in the US that you could make longtails out of.
Try thinking sideways on your keywords. Like if you have auto insurance already, then "car insurance" or "automobile insurance." If you have every single city, town, and state in the USA, your keyword list should be around 10,000
i have auto insurance quote, on broad...so its showing up for every city state combo with auto insurance quote, i have car insurance quote keywords too
If you get a lot of impressions but no clicks, it most like means your ad is not so good, try to rewrite the ad, write several ads in rotation and see which one gets a better CTR, once you established which ad is better run with best performing ads.
the problem seems to be your ads. have you expirimented with a lot of variations to find what works best? whats your CTR?
let me know how things going(I am kinda in same boat as you are) and how do you make profit if you bid $4 per click?
if you make $60 per lead Then you need around one lead per 14 click to be making profit. Which needs to be a very good conversion rate
nope im getting 9.50$ and making profit anyways thanks to those who helped i will just keep trying more ads
yea, but all my QS and ctr dropped within the past couple days, i dont know why so im trying to figure how to fix it so im losing money now
, can someone tell me if this is a good thing to do, and does it actuallywork ....in my campaign some keywords are getting lots of impressions and most of my clicks but the ctr is very low. should i pause that keyword temporaily to get the ctr up for that ad group? for instance say im bidding on "auto insurance quote" and that click got me 9 out of my 10 clicks for a day. but that keyword is getting 1,100 impressions and only 9 clicks which makes its ctr .81%. In that ad group i have a total of 1,150 impressions. so if i pause that keyword that will bring that ad group to 50 impressions and 1 click which makes the ctr 2.0%. so now the ctr is 2% instead of the .81% but by pausing that keyword im only getting 1 click now. if i do that to raise my ctr will that make my qs also raise and my bid prices lower? then once my qs raises and bids lower i can unpause that keyword and will be in the top spot and get more clicks thus maintaining my ctr?
Pause the keywords that arn't doing so greatly for you, and stick to the ones that are giving you the much more converstion. Thats where you take a look at other keywords you can use, and test them out.
auto insurance is difficult to convert due to the personal info that people need to key in. you may one to split test ur landing pages.
For starters, you need to come up with some better ads and make sure your display domain is a good one too. What I do is test 4 ads at one time, 2 normal "serious" ads and 2 ads that are really outside the box and creative. Normally my ads that stick out from the bunch have a higher CTR (3-8%). Think outside the box, it will work.
