the ads came back the same time the servers started to slow down, my guess is i was right all along, and shawn disabled them to allow the one DB server to work without being overloaded with the PUB id queries so members dont click on their own ads.

Yep they are back, nothing to see here folks, move along.

I think that's about enough post padding for one day. Yes the ads are now showing, do we need another 250 or so posts about it? Nah

Wonder if it is still revenue sharing.

I am sure it is, but I don't see how you get revenue from it. I never see any real dollar amounts from my revenue share with DP. How is it you actually earn from this revenue share?

You're sharing 50% chance with around 40k members, and I'm sure 40%+ of active members use revenue share.

I thought there was some consideration on how active you are in the forum, not by how many posts you make, but by how many times your posts are viewed. Or something to that effect anyway...

C'mon guys... you are making this whole thing look like some big nasty cover-up anymore. What are we hiding here ? Why can't we get any kind of explanation on the missing ads ? Don't you think we deserve something to quench our "Inquiring Minds" ?

I noticed how all those threads have been locked up already. I did not even have a chance to respond on one thread that wasn't even open for 2 hours:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=588448

And you know... DP members don't give up too easily and will keep posting anywhere they can... IE:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=5503380&postcount=81
    and
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=588092
    and now this one.

It would be so much better if we get some kind of response to this... Even if you need to carefully word things to keep out any sensitive information or be politically correct. I am sure somebody is capable of this.

Or maybe it is better that we start believing everyone's accusations on what really happened and just let the rumors run rampant.

And for those that believe there is nothing to see and that this is no big deal... Don't you think a problem between the biggest IT company and the biggest IT community should be of concern to members here ?

I would bet we all could learn a thing or two if the facts were made available and would look much more "pro" than ignoring the problem.

Perhaps its time to pull Woodward and Bernstein out of retirement to get us some answers.

It's more entertaining imo... :) The real reason is too boring, it provides nothing interesting or entertaining.

Not saying anything about it let's people come up with all sorts of hilarious reasons. lol

I think Shawn saw a fast car he wanted to buy, but can only afford it after google pay him next month. He knows he shouldnt buy the car so had to limit his monthly spending by turning off DP ads:D

am i correct? if it wasnt the car it may have been an expensive lady:D

I think I just drowned in my thirst for knowledge ;) and also I think that was all most of us needed to hear.

I am now going to grab a bag of popcorn and sit back and watch the show.

    thanks :)
