Writers Wanted

I am amazed to look through the threads asking for writers. A large majority of the responses have misspelled words and poor grammar. Has anyone heard of a spell check.

If you are applying for a writing job, maybe you would be wise to make sure you use proper grammar and good spelling. :D

The worse thing is, the OP normally hires the cheapest ones and then complains later that the work was inferior. If the person you just hired writes a post with many spelling errors and poor grammar, there is a good chance the article is going to be of the same quality.

Just a point of information, when referring to yourself as "I", it is always capitalized.:)

    OK, I am done ranting!:D

I agree. People really should use proper grammar and spelling, esspecially if they are wanting to write something for someone.

I used to get a lot of work from there when I was writing for peanuts. There are actually people offering jobs for $0.005 a word... and the worst thing is that they get interested writers

Whilst i am dead against racism, it does annoy me when I ask for natural english speakers and i get plenty Asians PMing me as they think their english is perfect when its not.

there their, to too, whether weather, round around.

Simple mistakes like using the wrong words above. It drives me nuts. I still only have 1 english writer though in my whole team of staff. The Asians do fine, i just dont pay them if they mess up:D

I agree. While the occasional typo is one thing, if you are advertising for clients or responding to an advertisement you NEED to make sure you proofread!

It makes me cringe to see a solicitation for writers where every response is from someone who A) Is too lazy to check their spelling or B) Not a native English speaker. If you are going to target a primarily English-speaking market, your language skills MUST be up to par.

That's not an insult, that's fact.

I have done numerous posts for forums and blogs and have always read over any of my own handy work. I kind of tend to be a stickler for spelling and getting things grammatically correct. By the way, if I am swamped, I do sometimes solicit a writer from the BST arena on occasion. I judge giving the work to the writer if the response via PM is written correctly.

    Well said.:)

I am a terrible speller but a good writer and I use every tool available to check my spelling. Typos are normal and anyone can make them, however, if you want to be taken serious, you should make sure that your posts look like they are professional.

As far as the English-Speaking market, I agree with that too. I know some Spanish but I would never try to market my skills in a Spanish-Speaking market because I would be humiliated.

Those that pay that much get what they deserve. They get rewritten articles or copy and paste from somewhere else.

Exactly. I took French in high school, but I would never target a French-speaking market because I'm simply not as well-versed in the language as a native speaker would be!
