I have been online trying to figure out ways to make money online for almost a year, and I haven't made anything. I hear these success stories of kids younger than me making $1k a month. Its just depressing. I need some guidance. What do I do? Here is some info about me: -15 Years Old -Paypal Account (with $500 withdrawl limit) -No Adsense (Not 18) -Im a pretty good website designer - I know the basics of affiliate marketing.. - I have a clickbank account (Not verified) What do you recommend I do? My current short-term goal is $200 a month. Tips Greatly Appreciated, Matt
Well if your a good web designer, why not offer your services? If you can do graphic designs as well thats another service you can offer.
Bum marketing is pretty much just writing articles and linking to your website to gain traffic. A lot of people link it to landing pages for affiliate programs.
Create a website, and just try to earn $8/day. Can earn from affiliate programs (Adsense, Chitika), Ad space sales, product sales, etc. Or create 4-5 websites, manage them for around 3-5 months, and sell for $200+. Equals $200/month easy.
Thanks for your input. I'll do my best to get my parents to sign up for adsense for me. If I do register as myself on adsense, will supplying my SSN lead to Google finding out that im not 18? Basically, will adsense find out if my SSN date of birth doesnt make me 18?
Hi Matt, you can read about bum marketing from the guy who coined the phrase at http://www.bummarketingmethod.com/ . It's a free course. Once you start making some cash with it you can modify it slightly to get more out of your writing but start small and build up. Don't overwhelm yourself. When you say your good at web design, what do you mean? Be specific. Can you design graphics? modify graphics? Write html/php, work with templates etc. There are people who will pay to have things done that are simple to you but a complete nightmare to them or maybe they just don't want to have to do it themselves. Bum marketing is a cheap and excellent way to start making a few bucks, it might be hit and miss at the start but stick at it. Also focus on offering your web design skills to people. Dave
Go with the evergreen model... don't trade your time for dollars, create information products and sell them. The real movers and shakers on the 'net don't slang other peoples products they make there own. Create a product by recording yourself doing something or talking through a powerpoint using Camtasia Studio (you can currently download version 3 for free!) at www.techsmith.com. Don't write an ebook as it takes much longer to finish the product than it does to record a video. If your really broke and can't afford hosting, a domain and clickbank activation fees you can get a free account at www.kunaki.com and upload your product as a CD or DVD and they will handle all of the order taking and shipping you just point people at the sales page they will setup for you.
sspoldir is exactly right. For the most part the people making lots of cash online are those with their own products (there are exceptions). When you have your own product you can automate the process of selling so you work once and get paid many times. You even have other people selling and promoting your product for you. Trading your services does require your time but you will earn cash for it. There's nothing wrong with working, there's no free ticket. Having your own product is going to take work but it will be yours. There's going to be work involved at some point. The bum marketing method will earn you cash but yes you are promoting other peoples products. Not saying that you don't but start to think outside the box, you can use bum marketing to promote your own site/product. Use it to build your own mailing list instead of someone elses. There's lots of ways to make it more profitable to you. Decide what you're going to do, make a plan and stick to it. Owning your own products is probably the best way to go. Techsmith do offer v3 of camstudio for free and it's very easy and quick to create products with video. The videos don't have to be perfect, they just need to meet a demand. Dave
Hey, Im 15 too How good are you at webdesign? any examples? Some people might wanna pay you for webdesign (Depending on how good you are, I might want to too) -Kyle
I started in this business when I was 15...5 years later I'm making a comfortable living doing this stuff part time while I attend university. My advice: don't ask other people. Read the forums, see how other people are doing things and then ask yourself: how can I do this better? It's much easier to make a lot of money easily when you discover something on your own than if someone else tells you about it.
I like the idea of bum marketing. Im going to finally get an AdSense Account, and I will try the creating my own product and selling it. The only problem is I really dont know what kinds of informational product I can make. I could do web design, but im assuming most people on this forum already know how to do that. As far as being a good web designer, I have a pretty good portfolio goin. If anyones interested I could PM it to you. I usally work in flash and dreamweaver, but not much coding. I do every basic logos and graphics. I really do appreciate all the input you guys have put in. Thanks, Matt
Yea bum marketing is pretty much free. My advice is deffinately do it on something you enjoy, it get's very boring for stuff you don't enjoy. But saying that I made 15 articles on dogs and didn't get bored even though I have no pets. I've got an old ebook on it if you want? http://www.floodle.net/extra/ebayinfo/bum_marketing.html Enjoy mate
hi topsite15, it's already been suggested here but i'll say it again... begin by offering your web design services. You can start right here on DP and once you have cash and experience under your belt you should have your own website built offering your web design services to a bigger audience. Trust me, this can actually bring you a lot more money than you're aiming for.
i got an adsense account when i was 12 without any hassle... the only sites where age restrictions can stop you is probably gambling sites. there are loads of 13-17 year olds buying and selling on ebay (which is a good start). getting a blog is probably the easiest way to start and chucking on some related affiliate links.
Matt e-books are crap ...adsense is 0.10 click revenue usually unless in a high competition niche. You have the right idea with clickbank...no need to make your own digital products as they have thousands If you cannot sell a clickbank product your own product is not likely going to change the tide to to speak. Bum marketing was a bums way to make money telling people that article marketing works. Write your own articles and submit them linking to the affiliate site you set up.... Put up a site of your own with a clickbank product that people in everyday life need..... not things like how to earn a million ....think more along the lines of health products, (people will always need health care) stop smoking anti stress something that teaches people how to remedy lifes problems...how to train a dog.....how to find a job they want. Keep It Simple Also if you can design you can offer your services here at DP but you will need a portfolio online for people to view. Hope it helps. Peace!
Ask a confirmation from yout parents to make an adsense account on their name! They probably don't know much about it anyway!
