I recently had an offer to purchase my site, I declined because I think my site has potential down the road. When/If I sell my site I will retain a percentage, because if the site sells again, I will make a profit from that sale as well.

It's hard to say right now what I would sell my site for, because my advertising income is not that great, but I am gaining new members on weekly basis and my traffic is improving on daily basis. I am in the process of branching my site off and when this is complete this will add value to my site as well.

If they switched domains in October like they said, then of course they're going to have high Alexa and no PR.

    website : www.narutowallpaper.biz
    Category : Wallpapers
    Price tag: $50k = SOLD

It would probably sell for $5k-$10k right now but it is growing too fast for me to sell so cheap.

I agree with you. I think the best thing to do with a site (especially a blog) is keep working with it and maximizing its earning potentials. After time, you'll be earning much more anyway and will quickly make the price you might've sold it for months before. And THEN, you can still sell for much more if you decide to. Keeping a site that is still growing for as long as you can is the best option.

Your right it is. Before I was extorted by my webhost and lost my url in Oct I was pr4 and who cares what in Alexa. Now I had to start all over and my domain is almost 60 days old now. However when your business is government contracts and military dollars you tend to go against the numbers :)

$500K is what it would take just for me to get to the table and definetly a non compete wouldn't happen. Remember it isn't always about the pr or Alexa...I had a household brand before this switch and it won't take me much longer to get that back. On a side note, this site has been in NPR, Fox News, Miami Herald, got stuff going up in the next shuttle out of NASA, in the Antiques and Collectibles National Mag this month...man I guess thats a lot from a pr0 2.5Mil site :))

And sometimes is just takes some waiting. After 1 month NarutoWallpaper.biz was making $1 per day, after leaving it sit for 2 more months it is now making $25 per day. I did barely any work on it in those two months.

I custom developed it for that website, but I am now selling copies of it. There is a sales page linked in my signature and also a sales thread (with discount) at DP - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=555729.

I'd THINK about an offer over $800,000, but not sure it would be
smart for me to sell unless it hit that magic $1,000,000 mark.

    http://freetoadvertise.biz (Web Directory)
    http://freetoadvertise.biz/forum (Forum)

I really don't know how much but would have to see how much i have made already with the directory to determine a price for it. (The forum is 3 months old and not popular)

Prolly $2,000 for both (Just a guess, i am not good with this type of stuff) The sites are a hobby for me. I will never sell unless price tag makes me pass out.

^^ all new registered domains so "technically" they would only go for reg fee. HOWEVER i am very firm to believe that with a little work the donation domains could be worth 20k for the bundle for a quick sale (that is all 10 domains for 2k each) its the word donation that seems to be a strong search engine term

Results 1 - 10 of about 5,530,000 for donation. (which is why i regestered alot of TLD's on the subject. might have been a bad investment?)
Results 1 - 10 of about 660,000 for biggest donation.

with more work with someone with more knowledge in this field they could easily make 10 times that amount.

as far as the sexmyx sites..i probably would let them go for 2000$ each if they were developed(which im working on kinda) If someone bought the 10 donation ones i would probably throw these in for free because that would totally wipe my portfolio. and i would be cool with 20 large.

this is just my opinion. i know really nothing about domaining and a lot about marketing. What do i really know eh?
