Build your own directory. Make a WordPress blog (free theme) and a $1.99 info domain. Post some pics from flickr and two lines of content on how funny the pic is. Add your deep links somewhere in the post with the right title. Voila. Ping the search engines and make a few directory submissions and social bookmarking. The whole thing takes a few minutes to set up ( you even can time stamp the posts) and you have a lifelong free directory for your deep links. Also if you fit the pic to the subject of your link you get high quality.
Your idea leaves me with a directory which I can add many sites to, thing is I dont have many sites aI have a few that I need to submit to many directorys instead of one. If I workd for loads of sites or wanted to run a directory yeah it would be worth doing, but I dont want to run a directory which would leave me with a directory with a few links in and thats it.
